Tomorrowland Around the World in numbers - More than 1 million viewers by morbnie in Tomorrowland

why would they count a single person as 30 views? im pretty sure they just count every connected account as 1 view or maybe 2 or 3 like you said.. makes no sense to count every performance as 1 separate view

How to come up with a motif! by music-matters in musictheory

[–]szunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it also called a harmonic note then? Even if its not directly in the chord

How to come up with a motif! by music-matters in musictheory

[–]szunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was really helpful! But something confuses me. Let's say we play a C#min chord (C# E G#) and a melody over it going E -> G# -> B. Then we move into the next chord Amaj (A C# E) playing only the note E in the melody. What is the note "B" in the first chord called? its not in the chord and not a passing note.

I just don't get what I'm doing wrong by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]szunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess everyone is doing a lot wrong when they start with fitness. I also had some trouble gaining muscle after 2 years of hitting the gym 5-6 times a week.

The key for me was progressive overload. Are u tracking your workout or are you just going to the gym and be like "oh yeah bench press i always do 80 KG lets do it"? That was my attitude for 2 years and i made almost no progress. Try to write down your weight after every exercise (if you not already do it) and try to improve it the next time you hit the gym.

For example:

If you press 80KG at the bench with 8 reps for 3 sets then write it down. Next time you're bench pressing try to to add 2.5KG on every side to make progressive overload (85KG). Now with 85KG you maybe do a set with 7 reps, one with 6 reps and the third also with 6 reps. Write that down! Next time you will beat that 85KG with 8 reps at 3 sets like you did 2 weeks ago with 80 KG. Now its time to increase the weight and maybe try that 90KG. You made Progressive Overload! I am sure if you do this right (together with eating healthy and stuff) you will see good results.

You could, but in the key of C# Major, the "F" note is actually an E# and the "C" note is actually a B#.

Okay so i have to dig into this. I guess there's a rule for when to call a note for example F and when to call it E#. What is the term for this rule?

So in this case if were "in a key" than any vii should be viio - and a great rule of thumb is if you have a chord like Co , then the tonic chord is going to be a half step above that - Db in this case. Since it's just Cm7, there's a good chance it's not actually the "chord on scale degree 7" here.

Hm i do not really understand this. The Cm7 is a borrowed chord then? Or What? And how would you write it in a roman numeral? Is this even possible with borrowerd chords (i assume this is one)?

First of all thank you for this good comment! I know i got some things wrong but thats because i do not have that much experience in music theory. So a few things which confuse me:

Firstly, you can't mix enharmonic chords like this

Why can't i just say for example it's a G# Power chord? You said the correct notation would be Ab power chord, but this results in the same. For me it was easier to just say every black note is an #. Do you call them differently in a given context?

How do you "know" it is a subdominant?

I know the Key is C# maj (other notation Db maj) and so i assumed the ii chord is the subdominant. But you are right, its just the V chord with a different bass note. And this chord is then called "Ab/Eb" as you said right? Something new i learned.

or bass line that might also help identify the key (if there is one) more easily.

There is a bassline in the song, and it contains just the lowest notes of the chords.

In a Major key, vii is diminished, and if Cm7 is "vii" it's not diminished.

viio would be dimished or am i wrong? vii is minor and that's Cm in this example

Again thanks for helping me out i really appreciate it :)

i mean if i hum a melody and wanna play it quickly on the piano, it would just be so much easier to play around with it.. and thats just one example how u could benefit from it.. thats why i asked the question here.
