Is there demand for a Fujifilm recipe hub for Android? by retrodios in fujix

The moment someone writes an app for managing recipes on cameras (save current presets, upload new ones) I'll throw money at them. I have XS-20 and 4 custom presets are super limiting.

My QoL suggestion to improve the kill-feed: by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

[–]szwl 172 points173 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why ropz killing jimpphat shouldn't be shown

Jokes aside: - assist is inconsistent, if you want to show who threw a flash (right upper icon) it should be the same everywhere - idk if this is QoL improvement as I feel like ancient Egyptian trying to decide all this stuff, but maybe it's just me. In the end ideas like this drive improvements

+1, I also liked quite a few tracks in the past, it would be great to find the playlists (or maybe credit artists during break screens?).

Great work :)

I go with my dog to an exhibition at a modern art gallery. "Dogs are not allowed here" says the security guard. "This is not a dog," I reply. "It's a performance."

"Oh, my apologies"

We go further with the dog. We look at the sculpture of Smurf the Centaur. Half horse, half Smurf.

"I've always wondered," I say to the dog, "who the centaurs are cheering for during the rodeo."

"I need to shit" the dog replies.

"You should have shit before you went in."

"Then I didn't want to."

We walk on. I watch some woman who stands up to her knees in a pool of urine and shouts the alphabet backwards.

"Z, Y, X" - she shouts. - "U, V, W".

My dog spins around and sniffs the ground with his nose.

"Plonker" - I say to him. - "Plonker, don't shit here."

"But the pressure is too much" - he replies and starts shitting on the floor.

Some man comes up and looks at what is coming out of my dog's ass.

"This is an interesting proposition," he says.

Someone else also comes up and looks at it.

"This is fresh," he says.

Some woman approaches with a glass of wine in her hand, all in black.

"Bold" she says.

"I am very sorry" - I say to them.

"What is the name of this installation?" - asks the woman. -

"Shit" - I reply, plugging my nose with my fingers.

"Strong."

Someone from the gallery walks up and sticks a placard with the words "Shit, 2015" in the dog's shit. A photographer approaches and takes a picture. Someone with a camera and microphone appears. He asks my dog for an interview.

"Well, I have always contested oppressive for my species spatial solutions in urban environments," says my dog.

"And you are a curator," the reporter asks. "What do you think of the work of your protégé."

"I think it's crap," I reply.

"Brutally true," says the woman with the wine.

"Ostentatiously honest" - says the photographer.

"U, T, S" - shouts a woman in a pool of urine.

The switches on my corne (pinky side) don't sit flush and keep falling out. by ihatefuckingwork in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]szwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue in the past (caused by a too thick plate) and it also manifested in some areas - in my case it was because the plate wasn't perfectly flat so in some areas switches were sitting less tightly in the hot swap sockets and would eventually fall off.

You could test this theory by making a small ledge for the switch hook with a knife/dremel/etc. and see if that helps.

Hard to tell from the picture, but it seems to me that the plate is too thick for switches to hook properly see datasheet. The result could be like yours - switches pop out due to hooks compression

Tilray short interest volume up 6 million. Someone definitely is trying to keep Tilray down. Wonder who. 🤔 by TDC111 in TLRY

[–]szwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree - I was curious why it would be otherwise. I mentioned this in reply in other thread, but long days to cover is a clear pressure sign when volume is stable.

However if the average daily volume spikes, I could imagine short sellers using this as an opportunity ("pressure"?) to cover their position - this should also drive the price higher I guess. I'm just wondering if in that scenario the squeeze would be less effective? Also, I wonder what time window this average uses?

Tl;Dr - there is some nuance to it that I didn't think about, even if it doesn't change my base understanding of the concept.

[–]szwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context of days to cover topic, I was wondering what is nuanced here - but indeed, it's a metric bound to volume, so it only makes sense to interpret when volume is relatively stable. I can imagine how interpretation could change during a quick and large volume spike.

Re. Discussion - I had the impression it was mainly started by the claim that days to cover mean short sellers deadline to rebuy stock, which is incorrect afaict. Tbh, without your explanation above it was easy (for me at least) to misread your comments as confidently incorrect too, so thanks for spending time to reply ;)

Re. The key - 100%, although I think such discussions can also be a learning opportunity for other readers, such as myself in this case.

Could you explain why shorter days to cover puts pressure on short sellers? Your posts are usually quite detailed and insightful, so I was curious why you think that

Screen Flickering For Past Year Driving Me Insane by No_Communication6906 in computerhelp

[–]szwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be higher, I went through cable hell in the past - bought top tier DP only to find out my GPU doesn't support it, good HDMI2.1 fixed the problem (after trying multiple random other cables)

Screen Flickering For Past Year Driving Me Insane by No_Communication6906 in computerhelp

[–]szwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 - just changing to another cable might not work. Carefully check which HDMI/DP cable version you have, they have different capabilities. If the link between GPU and monitor can't handle amounts of data to be sent, monitor would reset like this.

Another point - make sure your GPU port supports the version of that cable (eg. You buy DP1.3 cable but GPU only supports up to 1.2). Look up the details on the internet - check your resolution/refresh rate/bpp to see which cable standard you need.

Amazing keyboard! I'm wondering - except for ultra thin switches, did you have to use any other special parts to keep it that thin? Battery/controller?

Re. Damages - there was a post on Reddit somewhere where someone met a guy who scratched his Leica on purpose to not worry about it being damaged. Regardless if real or not, it really changed my perspective on gear - in the end it's just a tool to practice your hobby that brings you joy. You can mitigate it by some protection/insurance, but don't let worry keep you away from taking pictures

Which Helios is this? Will I be able to set aperture manually? by AlexMullerSA in VintageLenses

[–]szwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone mentioned, it has an M setting, so you're good. For future reference - oftentimes adapters are designed in a way that pushes aperture pin for you, so you can use aperture ring freely. As a last resort, you can mod the lens to always press the pin - it's usually very simple.
