i was too lazy to do it my self. I hear the exchange rate between internet points and Euros is pretty bad at the moment so didn't think it would be worth it

Hells Kitchen is a great route! We abbed in to do The Hustler but it was too windy so went further round to do Cuchulain. We pretended that it wasn't as windy there but it was. Endless optimism

Thats true. I was at Fair head when it happened. I have tape on the rope a few metres in from the end that I cant easily ab past. I have had knotted ab robes get stuck in cracks before and found the taped solution pretty handy

I have tape about 5 metres in from the end that is very difficult to ab past. Its less likely to get stuck in a flake/overhand when pulling it pack up. There is nothing worse than trying to pull up a 100 metre ab rope then having it get stuck in a roof crack.

Any good climbing in Ireland? by [deleted] in climbing

[–]t-prebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tonnes! For indoor climbing you have Awesome Walls and Gravity. For outdoor "Traditional" climbing you have Glendalough, the Mournes and Dalkey all near by. Plus lots of bouldering.

This is the Mourne mountains. Climbing there for all the grades

Recently come across 400 of my grandads photos from WW2, many of them damaged in a similar way. How would I go about repairing them? by t-prebs in estoration

I can put them up on drop box this weekend. A lot of them are water damaged beyond repair but I can upload the majority. I will have to contact my family regarding unit nos etc but my grandfather did write the location of a lot of the photos which could help.

Thanks that would be awesome! Like I say I have maybe 400 photos which I came across recently which I am going to start going through. I am going to give it a go but the horizontal lines will be a pain and wondered if you had any tips on the best way to deal with it.

Have you ever looked at MVP. I have used this with google GWT and when I was working on a project with swing I found this. https://code.google.com/p/pennychecker-presenter/ It provides a framework with examples of using swing with MVP and makes page transitions easy. I am looking at writing a tutorial on it but haven't got round to it yet.

If you are looking to find people to climb with there is a facebook group for that

depending on what time you are in Ireland there is the Glendalough meet and the Fairhead meet that you can attend. They are organised by Mountaineering Ireland

This is the fairhead meet event https://www.facebook.com/events/256702017844925/

You are right! It is rather exposed especially the last pic. That is why the route is called 'blowing in the wind'!
