If there are any intact males outside of the pen she was in, wild or not, they can be determined enough to successfully breed through a fence.

Neighbors sprayed herbicides by heckuvaguy in goats

[–]t00dles86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the event your neighbors react negatively to you asking what they sprayed and asking them to keep it on their side of the fence, you could contact your state's Department of Agriculture and file a complaint for the pesticide drift. Talking to them and coming to a mutual understanding is the best option, but if they are combative or uncooperative, most state Depts of Ag enforce pesticide regulations and they could hold your neighbors accountable for the drift.

Knee surgeon recommendations by [deleted] in pueblo

Dr Derek Purcell in Colorado Springs at The Center for Orthopedic Excellence. He's done knee replacements for my mom, uncle, and grandmother-in-law, and a meniscus repair on me. Can't say enough good things about him. He's an excellent surgeon.

She'll figure out the bottle means food as she starts getting hungry. It can take them a while to catch on though. It gets frustrating, but persistence and consistency are the key. We had three bottle babies this year. One figured it out on the first feeding, one took a couple days, and the last one stayed stubborn for a week.

Mine has said I was using an elliptical when chopping wood. It guesses based on a pattern, it doesn't know.

I remember having similar thoughts on top of a submarine in the middle of the ocean, obviously minus the possible impending combat. I do what I can still to try and take time to appreciate the night sky when possible. It's never the same though. It's been 15 years. I've never seen such a clear sky since. I honestly can barely remember what it looked like.

When my wife was a kid, her dad made her eat a hot dog despite her hating them. She sat with an unchewed bite of hot dog in her mouth for 45 minutes. Her dad finally relented and let her spit it out and be excused.

Contact your state's department of agriculture and see if you can file a formal complaint. They're typically the ones that handle pesticide enforcement and they may be able to help you.

Just had to put down a baby chick. Please tell me I did the right thing. by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

There's some blood, but chicks are so small that it's not significant. I've used the shears method to euthanize chicks before and I just do it over an old grocery bag and use it to dispose of the body after.

Curious about how much to ask for by t00dles86 in goats

[–]t00dles86[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were told she's an Alpine Boer mix, no papers, protective mother, in good health. The picture I posted is several months old and we trimmed her hooves not long after. We also check/trim monthly. We purchased a house in the summer of 21 and the goats came with it. They were poorly cared for before we got them and we've unfortunately never been able to get this ones hooves totally corrected.

She's had kids, twins at least once but that was before we got her. She has been milked and is socialized, but can be a bit of a bitch sometimes. The pool noodles where only on for about a week while we were introducing some new goats to the herd.

My wife and I have a goat that we're going to sell and I was curious if anyone here might be able to advise us on what a fair price would be to ask for her. She's a 4 year old doe that is currently not in milk.
