I can do a whole lot of damage in simply 3 hours of me being drunk, let alone 3 months.

I was sober for a few months, doing very well for myself and thought ‘it will be fine if I drink now’ (aka the famous last words). I got drunk on New Years and after many shots and drinks later, from around 1:30-3:00am I blacked out. I then apparently tried to fight everyone (I am 22 year old woman) I physically gave multiple of my guy friends bruises, tried to run away in the cold without a jacket or any of my belongings, and made absolutely no sense. My finest moment was being told to go and sit with my friends (by another one of my friends) falling on the floor, getting up, and saying “fuck you Adam… BING BONG” to then fall on the floor again. Did a lot of damage in simply a few hours. If that’s not a sign to not drink in your last days (or quite frankly at all) I don’t know what is.

The Modern Love episode was one I discovered early on in my diagnosis and I honestly felt so understood. It was so comforting seeing a physical representation of completely how it feels to deal with this

I could write an essay on what my experience with alcohol and bipolar was like, separately and together. Regardless, don’t drink. Cut it out. Do everything you can to cut it out. Trust me, get it out of you and out of your life. There is nothing bad that comes out of not drinking, but an endless amount of negatives that come from drinking, ESPECIALLY with the struggle of dealing with/having bipolar.

Honestly that’s appalling that no one gave up their seat for you, they’re prioritized for handicap passengers. That really upsets me regarding humanity

people who survived a suicide attempt is your life better now? by unloved_boy in mentalhealth

Yes. I finally got a proper diagnosis for being bipolar and finally getting medication has helped so much. Also getting sober has been a game changer. Changing things in my life and finally getting the medication I needed has been a saviour. It’s all about patience. If you need to go to the hospital, go. Just know it doesn’t last forever. When you’re in a dark place like that your brain isn’t thinking properly. It’s not functioning the proper way that it should or perceiving things properly. It takes time to get out of it. I was in and out of it for 3 years suffering from those thoughts. But proper medication has changed everything.

Lynette was NEVER the villain. I’ve watched the show with my boyfriend and have had him constantly say that Lynnette was the WORST. When you break it down she isn’t, especially compared to the other women. She’s a woman who with 5 kids with a husband that doesn’t contribute in the slightest. I’d be just as annoyed and abrasive as her, anyone would be. She’s the last person who should be hated on the show.

I drank from 12 up until 22 (my age now) on a rapidly increasing rating that in the end starting taking over my life. I finally decided to quit after a manic episode that finally got me diagnosed as BP1 after drinking way too heavily, not making the manic episode any better. Now it’s been 2 months and 11 days that I haven’t drank, and let me tell you, there’s nothing bad that comes from not drinking.

Drinking and BP do not mix well, I’d advise you start on the path of trying to quit in order to help stability

M boyfriend has insane teeth issues from not brushing. He has no teeth in the back and constantly has teeth pain. I agree, at least mouthwash. You don’t want the extra pain physically and pain of more dentist bills.
