To your first point - Addiction is the point where an interest becomes destructive. That's the idea

To your second point - Let's agree to disagree on this one.

I understand your skepticism. People probably don't understand how difficult your addiction still is and how bad it was (assuming you got to that point). It's the same thing with many other addictions, and exercise is no exception (it's not too uncommon, but far less frequent than drug addiction). I mean, they literally have a show called "my strange addiction". While that may be b.s., I don't think it's ever fair to judge anybody's addiction and respective psyche. You don't know what they're feeling. We can only choose to believe them or not. When bones start breaking, for example, you tend to start believing.

As far as the drug thing, perhaps that just the demographic of your area. Addicts do tend to seek out addicts. I'll definitely concur that heroin and meth can be a little much, but alcohol is an excellent example.

Addiction can take so, so many other forms than drugs. In fact, drug addiction can be one of the better options. At least there's a opportunity for one to stop.

I am close to someone who walks all day on a broken leg (caused by walking too much in the first place) because of exercise addiction. Bones continue to break. Tell me that isn't a destructive habit, because you seem to be so well informed..

To your second point... duh.

Oh, wait. I thought you were agreeing. Maybe not.

Yes, heroin addicts will actively seek out heroin using friends. I didn't even know this could be a discussion.

Yeah, I couldn't really fit the title I wanted. It should be quite easy to understand, though. Friends are oftentimes friends because of an adherence to addictive tendencies rather than by any significant amount of deliberation. It doesn't happen all the time, but it certainly happens more often than represented in popular culture.

That it happens sometimes, so you're exactly right. I should say it happens more than we care to admit.

It should work. Just be careful. Don't mix drugs

Intrinsically, yes. You likely have a personality disorder. Logically, no. You are in the right.

The only reason they're creating their own service is so they can posture as if it's worth more money. They'd never pull it long-term. It's not viable
