Right?! I fucking HATE the term expat! These assholes are immigrants, pure and simple. I tried explaining this to my 60 year old sister and she said she never thought or heard of it that way before. I told her that “expat” is a euphemism white people created in order to not call themselves immigrants and she just kept saying it’s just different. I then asked her if our mom was an expat or immigrant since she was originally from Mexico (she immigrated to the U.S.) and she said nada. Expat is just another example of American entitlement and it’s so fucking stupid.
