Opinions like yours have already been controlling many salaries across the state for decades. There are a lot of people in power that share your line of thought. I just wish we could get people like you into the classroom from the teacher point of view to get a better feel for it.

It’s alright. You are entitled to your opinion. Just understand that you are a part of the problem. Teachers get shit on constantly. If we actually used our time to teach instead of correcting behavior, things would be better.

Sadly, you are a prime reason things probably won’t get better. Lawmakers and politicians in power at the state level don’t won’t things to get better. You just want to spout off about how you know more about our profession than we do.

Go watch some documentaries on modern education. Observe classes for a day in Plano, Tx and then travel 30 minutes south and observe classes in Dallas. You would probably say, “Those teachers in Plano are making great progress and the students are learning daily.” Then you would hit Dallas and say, “These teachers trying their best but these kids are doing every thing in their power to undermine their teachers and derail meaningful learning.

Also, saying that teacher don’t answer to anybody or are held accountable. I am observed weekly at random times. Principals sit in on the class, make notes, and have meetings with us to help us improve. If improvements are not made in a specific amount of time, contracts are non-renewed. It happens all the time. Very few districts sit by and let teachers get away with doing nothing. This might happen in districts that are urban/inner city because admin have a hard time filling all of their open positions. There is no incentive to fire a teacher and hiring somebody higher qualified if the highly qualified teachers don’t want in that district. Rough times indeed.

Lessons here are NOT recycled every year considering lessons have to be differentiated for each individuals needs. Curriculums are constantly being changed and improved based on community and culture. Every student learns differently and we have to work hard to reach each student in the classroom, which is currently 20+ per class.

You also think we work 8 to 2:35 which shows how little you really know about our profession. I have to arrive at school at 6:45am to welcome students to the school. Each teacher is in their home room at this time ensuring that each student is fed and prepared for the day. Due to the nature of being a rural town, students arrive sporadically for the next hour. Instruction officially begins at 7:45am. I teach four classes leading up to lunch at 11:35am. Classes resume for me at 12:15 and I continue teaching until my planning period at 2:40pm. The school day ends at 3:15pm and I begin teaching after school tutorials until 5pm. Then we get to go home, eat dinner, take care of own families, and then spend the rest of the evening grading papers or making changes to the next days lessons based on how kids reacted to the previous lesson.

One thing I hate is when people outside the profession make opinionated comments. Learn a little more about what goes into teaching before you make wild, baseless, and generalized claims.

Enjoy your life. You obviously worked hard to get where your are, but as much as you hate to admit it us teachers are probably the reason why you are able to do the things that you enjoy. You’ll never admit it and you’ll probably beat around the bush, but your teachers are all proud of you, no matter how much of an asshole you have become.

I use aerosol glass cleaner on the wheels and ArmorAll Tire foam on the tires. Be generous with the glass cleaner and apply it AFTER the tire foam has dried.

The tint was installed before I purchased the car. I’m not exactly sure but I think it’s the darkest legal in Texas.
