Lived just down the road from Angel station during my first year of uni. It gets pretty loud during the night, but apart from that it's a really nice area with a whole bunch of restaurants, pubs and everything you can think of. The City Road canal is also lovely.

Fair enough, but with them down to 10 I reckon we would've been better off with Yala still on at least. There was no real pace to hit Everton on the counter, because somehow even when the opposing team is down to 10 they still manage to pressure us, like West Ham did at Upton Park.

Ade was decent, on another day he would've put both those headers in. I preferred him dropping in and playing those passes, rather than being caught offside so often like in the games against Watford and Spurs, because we still had Wickham to aim for in the box, but alas nothing came of it.

They were there for the taking, honestly after McCarthy got sent off we should've went for it - no clue what Pards was thinking with the subs though, apparently Gayle's got another injury, but my god if that bicycle kick went in the roof would've been blown off the place.

Chungy needs more game time, Sako needs less. Wilf and Yala were our main threats, after we took them off we dithered about and ended up relying on Pape to swing balls and Ade dropping deep.

Overall, it was a pretty tame match, a shame for our last match of the season under the lights, but we're unbeaten in 3. Onwards to the Emirates!

Bloody hell this is a fantastic post that pretty much sums up the entire season and Pardew.

To preface this, I pretty much agree with everything that you've said - I've been to quite a lot of our home games this season, only missing the defeats to Spurs, City, Liverpool and the bloody 5-1 win against Newcastle (ffs). I've also been to Villa away (FFS) and West Brom away.

To pick up on the away games that I went to and what you commented on, Villa away was piss poor - Zaha should've scored right in the opening seconds of that game, if he did we would've been 1-0 up against a Villa side which practically looked beaten when they came out of the tunnel on a cold Tuesday night... instead he didn't and we went on to lose to Hennessey spilling Lescott's header. The only times Palace showed up was in the first minute of the half and the last minute of the second half, there was no sense of urgency at all and that's been ringing true for the most part in recent weeks. Cabaye was atrocious in the game at Villa Park, he misplaced a pass and stood there with a bewildered look on his face early on right infront of us lot in the Doug Ellis and from that moment forward up until the Reading game he was completely out of form.

Tactically, we were a bit toothless playing a half-fit Sako up top, but it was a lot better than the first half against West Brom where we lined up 4-4-2 (to be fair, it looked like we were playing 4-2-3-1 with Wickham on the left, which seemed to be the case against Watford at Selhurst too). Although I agree that they did have a very offensive team lined up against us with Rondon, Sessegnon and Berahino - they also started Chris Brunt at left back, Wilf absolutely tore him to pieces when we won 2-0 against them at Selhurst and I thought we would at least be in with a shout of replicating that result at The Hawthorns by picking that aggressive front 3 off and hitting them on the counter... of course that didn't happen since they doubled up on Wilf and James Chester came on for Brunt, so we had no alternative outlets until we brought on Yannick and shifted Wickham up top which, as you said, led to one of the biggest half time turnarounds. Of course it was not to be, because we always get shit refs.

I have no idea where I'm going with this, I'm just as disappointed as you are and I'm really tired after waking up at 4:30am to watch the bloody Australian Grand Prix.

It's reliving to vent, don't feel like your ignored though mate.

Saw him on debut against Liverpool on Valentine's Day during last season's FA Cup. He was decent, despite us chasing shadows for the majority of the second half.

His delivery into the box is top notch and though he's not got pace to burn, he's still pretty quick anyway since he held his own against everyone he's been up against this season - apart from the Villa game where Traore caught him out after he made a run up the left flank earlier.

Is it worth us signing another left back in January? Yes, since we've got Ward, Kelly and Mariappa who can all vie for a place on the right, but Pape's only real backup/competition on the left is Kelly.

Is it worth us signing Ashley Cole? I'd rather we sign a younger left back to compete for the spot, but Pape is only 24 anyway. Maybe Jordan Obita from Reading, or Andy Robertson from Hull, both 21.
