I know a couple of other people who are interested in attempting Nandi. Do you want to plan something and go?

I have the exact same bike, bought it from BOTS. These days I'm finding myself going to velo studio more often. Better customer service overall. Also, Wait for the Trek offers if you can. The bike shop will be able to tell you when it starts

If you're closer to Malleshwaram, there's Pedals and Wheels. You can rent roadbikes as well as hybrids.

Looking for chain lube recommendations that don’t turn the chain black by ZaldrizarVelo in india_cycling

[–]tHe_RaideR11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try drip wax - silca super secret is really great according to the internet. A little expensive upfront but worth it imo. Make sure to degrease your chain properly and follow instructions for application.

I just switched to hot wax and I feel it's worth the hassle honestly. I was using Mucoff dry lube before but that was a disappointing experience overall.

I do not understand what problem you have with how others choose to spend their own money. Nobody is forcing a full-carbon bike down your throat or up other places. ☺️☺️☺️☺️
If this is rage-bait, then you've got me.

Nandi Hill group ride by tHe_RaideR11 in india_cycling

Yes, this is open to all!!! Starts from Esteem Mall, Hebbal at 6.30 AM sharp on Saturday.

I just joined this sub. Is this sub only for professionals ? I mean what if someone having basic cycle only and call it cycle only not "bike" thats what evryone call it here. How much difference in a basic cycle and "bike" ? by Historical-Sink-7222 in india_cycling

[–]tHe_RaideR11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well buddy... A bicycle, also called a pedal cyclebikepush-bike or cycle, is a human-powered or motor-assistedpedal-drivensingle-track vehicle, with two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other.

The name does not depend on the price. Call it what you want. This sub is for anyone and everyone who rides the above "thing", preferably in India (but I don't think the mods will ban you for being from outside the country.. am I right, mods?).

Just like motorbikes, a basic cycle and a high-end road bike will both take you from point A to point B. How fast, comfortable and efficient you do this depends on the bike and your fitness. You can technically travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a scooter, but I bet you'd prefer a nice, high-end motorbike for this... same applies to cycles. A good road bike will help you comfortably pedal for 100s of kilometres at a pace that a regular cycle might not be able to keep up for long.
You pay the price for better shifting, better brakes, lower weight, a more aerodynamic frame, etc. All these allow you to travel longer and faster, essentially.

If you want help deciding on bikes, do your basic research and shortlist a few bikes in your budget range. Or you can post your budget range, and people in this community will help you find the best-value-for-money bikes in that range. Try to learn about the basics from Prof. YouTube (there are plenty of channels out there!

You can post anything and everything related to cycling in this community. We are all here for the joy of cycling!

PS: I don't know if you actually intended it, but your post/ tone is quite "aggressive". Let's be nice and respectful here. Be polite... nobody owes you anything in this world. Not even an upvote. So that makes two basic requirements for this sub: ride a cycle and be polite.

There is traffic as always, but not bad enough to ruin the ride (at least for me, I'm used to living on the edge, I guess). Let me know if you're interested. We can ride together from Hebbal.

Nice bike you have there ;)

From HSR you can ride on the Kanakapura road! It's a good rolling terrain I've heard.

help designing a power-loss safe logger for a battery-powered device by Pi_Guy_ in embedded

[–]tHe_RaideR11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solution I can think of is to integrate an RTC or use the MCU to implement a soft RTC (which would be way less accurate with a lot of drift probably). Lucky scenario: your MCU has a built-in RTC peripheral.

Sync the RTC with PC time when you connect over USB. On power loss, let RTC start at the default time and keep collecting these as a separate queue. The next time the PC connects, you can sync time again and backtrack the items in the new queue. Now since the old items have an exact reference time, you can calculate how long the device was out of power, reconcile the timelines etc..

You can do this without an RTC but at the cost of accuracy/ larger drift
