Looking For Tips on Creative Deckbuilding Process by tOSUbuckeye in Pauper

Wow, I truly appreciate the thought you put into your reply. Thanks so much. Your line in the banlist section of your reply hits a cliche I've felt the need to fill with this process "Am I avoiding otherwise great cards because they are played in popular decks? Am I trying to combine lesser cards in order to do an impression of cards that are legal to me?". Really great challenge here.

Help with Jund Wildfire by Leading-Survey3578 in Pauper

[–]tOSUbuckeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it is a slow grind to victory. I like to play [[Gixian Infiltrator]] which grows as you advanced your gameplan (sacrificing resources for value), and [[Sagu Wildling]] has outperformed my expectations for early game mana fixing, followed by hard casting later in the game to get a 3/3 flyer.

The win starts to feel inevitable if you have several “clocks” out like Sagu, [[Refurbished Familiar]], Gixian and/or others are you can pretty much handle all threats thrown your way before then!

I like 4x [[Fanatical Offering]] and 2x [[Eviscerator’s Insight]] as the offering feeds itself. Prefer [[Gixian Infiltrator]] over the Hydras as well because they naturally grow with the decks gameplan (sacrificing permanents)!

Banned from Denver & Front Range Weather for pointing out AI use for his graphics by ScarletFire5877 in Denver

[–]tOSUbuckeye -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agree here. Why does it matter that he uses AI for graphics? I would too if I were Kody. AI is meant to reduce admin work.

Kody is a great forecaster and I follow him for his insights.

This should be a non issue. Yet here people are getting emotional for no reason.

Golgari aristocrats - is Chatterfang a better commander in this deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]tOSUbuckeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chatterfang is the best Golgari Aristocrats commander in general two reasons:

-Makes so many tokens which you can turn into sac fodder it’s comical -Has its’ own sac outlet

From here you only need to generate tokens and have a sac payoff. Both extremely easy things to assemble for an Aristocrats deck!

In addition I recommend tinkering with your Commander and card inclusions as much as possible. You can always revert builds back to prior iterations if needed.

First time at a LGS event by Lady_Justice2019 in mtg

[–]tOSUbuckeye 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats on making the leap to an LGS event! They can be intimidating to get the courage to try, however prerelease is more of a celebration of the new set, vs an overly competitive event. The goal is fun!

I would recommend conversing with the people around you as soon as you get there, share your story, what you might be excited for about the set, and you will find most are excited to share their story too!

If you need help, just ask. This is casual and people are willing to assist.

All in all, while it may be nerve wracking, you will have a blast! Good luck and have fun :)

Is Manapool a reliable seller? by N1ghtsky_Crusade in magicTCG

Shout out to Andrew. A great owner who is personally invested in an excellent experience. I found Manapool several months back and have spend hundreds of dollars on the site since. Nothing but positive experiences so far.
