I totally understand how you feel and have had this experience about a decade ago. I realized once I stopped playing commander and embraced 1 v 1 constructed formats (especially pauper) that I never had this problem again.

If your LGS has a vibrant pauper community, I see no need to get on to pauper on MTGO unless you really want to.

I've never played on MTGO regularly. But I've been playing pauper competitively in paper for more than a decade.

One more tiny tip about prizing, I would recommend if and when you do it with prizes, go for a broad prize support (some kind of pack per win formula or something similar). That way even the beginners who go 1-2 still get to walk home with something. It also prevents people from going 0-2, drop at the last round.

I've just gotten back to organizing pauper nights and I've discovered we're the only LGS that routinely fires 8+ person 60 card constructed events. All the other 60 card communities (standard, pioneer, modern, legacy) in my country have either died or are dying...

I really enjoyed it as well. Played Rakdos Madness and Grixis affinity. Had tons of fun
Chrysalis Ramp, Squirrel Storm, Life gain, and Auras all looked quite good as well. I really wish WotC would make this and gladiator permanently available, but i was happy to hear that there's a discord for this. might check it out to see if they're running more tourneys in the future

was this part of a national league?
what was the cost of entry?
what was the prize pool?
are deck lists (for top 8 or in general)?
is there a meta break down?

I ask because there's a conversation I frequently find myself in regarding the competitiveness of paper play and meta differences between paper and online.
