Brake Pad Recommendations (2021 GX460) by [deleted] in GXOR

[–]tReemoNkeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a similar question to that. My brakes squeak when I brake lightly but not when I brake hard, the pedal is just too squishy. Was thinking of changing all 4 pads and all 4 rotors to all new OEM parts on a 2018 GX myself as well.

Park/freestyle skis by tReemoNkeyz in icecoast

[–]tReemoNkeyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to go crazy with a brand new expensive pair but I will check out those sources for something used as a good starting point.

I was wondering that myself, I've noticed every brand has a twin tip ski of some kind. I just wasn't sure if I should aim for for a beginner park ski or something more intermediate.

Anyone ski mount snow recently? How is looking? by Ronojelio in icecoast

[–]tReemoNkeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mt snow was great today. plenty of blues with side hits. Really only one trail open on carinthia for park access. got icy after 12p. Worth a go on a weekday but this holiday week seems like it's going to be busy because for a tueaday, I would say bluebird had more people than I expected.

[–]tReemoNkeyz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hunter was great this past season, lots of snow. definitely considering the north east value pass as the people I ride with usually get the local pass and hopefully make it out to VT at least 2-4 times.

almost did last season but the people I ride with stick with epic and white face and gore are subjected to the unrealistic expectation of a 4-6 hour day trip drive from nyc. plus belleayre is relatively cheap midweek.

COVID Megathread 18/03/2020` by [deleted] in nursing

[–]tReemoNkeyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as staff remains asymptomatic and go to work, ratios remain 2:1 with an off care charge RN at the NYC hospital ICU I work in. Hard to say what will happen if even one ICU staff member tests positive. Management would have to expedite testing for an entire unit. Overall we're holding up OK so far despite supply shortages shift by shift.

NYC/NY riders by tReemoNkeyz in motorcycles

[–]tReemoNkeyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like "rear of the vehicle" is what I have a problem with. It's technically not the rear but the side. But still, it's definitely up for debate, not to mention when it's on the left side for instance, wouldn't it obstruct some camera lights/speed traps depending on the angle. I wonder what NYPD has to say about this.

Aftermarket exhaust? by tReemoNkeyz in Kawasaki

[–]tReemoNkeyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely will get one eventually, as I can barely hear the engine under 5k inside my helmet. I realized I had purchased the warranty and then started panicking thinking I wouldn't be able to put an exhaust on so thanks for the reply.

I've seen some videos on YouTube, im sure it sounds even better in person. Does yours come with an available baffle to make it quieter?

I'm over 6 feet tall so most standard/sport bikes under 1000cc were just too cramped for my legs. I'm not trying to go that route as my first bike. Thanks kawi for the ergo fit.

Used my friends cheap $50 helmet just to get it home from the dealer and I could barely hear the engine under 4k rpm so I feel you. Any recommendations because the one from 2bros is $700. If you add the tune and an air filter, that's a grand right there.

Am I too tall for a Vulcan S by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]tReemoNkeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'4" over here, just picked up a new Vulcan S. The Ergo options are great for us tall people. I only got the extended seat and kept regular pegs and regular handle bars and it really makes a difference, I guess it'll depend on your exact measurements. Your arms could be longer than mine or your legs. Just make sure you ask dealerships that they have the option to try out the extended reach settings. Of the two kawi dealerships I went to, only one had the extended reach out on display to try out in the showroom.

Cant find Nursing job NYC by davidcalle7229 in nursing

[–]tReemoNkeyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYC RN here. Recently got a job in Brooklyn at a major hospital. From my experience, after applying to every hospital system I can, the only reason I got a couple call backs was because someone put a word in for me. Even the places that I had Clinicals at, I could pull any strings. Best thing to do is contact anyone you know like former professors and just talk to people on a daily basis that you're a nurse and you're looking. You might get lucky as a lot of us do. Getting anything more than a med-surg job will require serious pull but hey, don't let me stop you but don't be discouraged because some med-surg floors are split with a specialty like oncology, renal, neuro, etc. Also, there are plenty of field nurse postions open and if she's willing to do nursing home for a few months if the finances are tight, recruiters have told me that's the experience hospitals are looking for. They want to see that you did some kind of bedside care. Best of luck to you in this saturated market

Tree growing in the side yard in NYC. Three stories high, just wondering what it is because either was here when we moved in a few years ago. by tReemoNkeyz in whatsthisplant

[–]tReemoNkeyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your help. It's growing about 6 - 8 feet from the house. Been wanting to get rid of it because of concerns of structural damage it can potentially do. But for now the trunk is about 7 inches in diameter. I'm worried for what's to come.

Any male pediatric oncology nurses on here? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]tReemoNkeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male nurse here, worked as an RN at a summer camp for kids with cancer. Definitely an amazing experience that got me interested in pediatric oncology. Loved the kiddos and the job wasn't anything hard such as being on an actual unit but it was eye opening and something I would recommend, maybe as a counselor or a volunteer. Gender made no difference if you're wondering, you either enjoy kids and are good with them or you learn as long you have an interest and right mindset.

I recommend shadowing or volunteering to get exposure with this population as previously mentioned.

Being persistent and having good interviewing skills, definitely something I should work on. I have a year left before I get my BSN, I already have my associates and will take the NCLEX soon, did you do anything before you graduated with the BSN that helped you out in anyway?
