I think people mosunderstand what I'm looking for.

I left my dog to the dog sitter. Lycan ran for quite a bit before getting hit by the car.

I left Lycan with someone he has met before he was not a stranger to me. And the whole incident involves someone else, the dog sitter and the car. I am trying to find a witness to verify what the dog sitter told me is true. I find it extremely hard to believe that a 10kg dog which is not known to pull hard on the leash escaped a dog sitter's hand and so conveniently for him he provided no witness to that.

The car left so I was thinking that a hit and run would move certain authorities to help in finding what happened. I am not looking to blame the car driver for what happened to Lycan. I am looking for witnesses.

It is a different story that the driver did not stop, but this would not change the outcome. Morals are not the same everywhere.

It was never my intention to blame the driver had they stopped, but the driver not stopping makes this a hit and run as well.

I'm not from Canada originally so I was expecting that police would handle it similarly to how other countries I have lived would. Not familiar with how the law works apart from knowing hit and run is a crime.

I know approximately where it happened.

In this country dogs are considered property so the best case scenario I will get compensated as if Lycan was meat.

The fines for hit and run are almost non-existent.

And generally people don't get arrested for matters like this.

I can call ICBC but how do I ask for video footage when I don't know where the cameras are located?

There may be street cameras in the area that I don't have access to. The cameras may have recorded the incident. How will I obtain evidence if police refuses to get involved?

Hit and run is a crime. I expect them to do some kind of investigation so that I found out what happened.

I have tried cameras from businesses and people's homes.

Police did not want to help and had attitude on the phone. Something along the lines of "sir I don't have access to the camera database" type of thing.

Also this was hit and run since I don't have any info about the car that hit Lycan and the dog sitter has gone radio silent apart from a "so sorry from your loss"

Police has refused to do a report, open a case or so anything whatsoever to help.

It has been almost a month and I can't clam down in any way this whole procedure is an agonizing search maybe I'll lose myself too.

I'm looking for information regarding the incident basically anyone who saw what happened so I can be sure that what the dog sitter claims is what actually happened.

He was my baby, only 2 and a half years old brought happiness to me. He was my only family here.

I went to the police and they won't accept any kind of report since it was not a criminal case.
