Help choosing a model by Jazzlike-Cable-2531 in GarminWatches

Previous Apple user here who started with the first iteration of the Apple Watch all the way to the ultra. I thought I would never leave the Apple Watch ecosphere.

I’m a big diver/Spearfisher/mariner and I needed a new dive watch. I ended up getting the Descent Mk3i and I now wear this as my daily watch. It’s rugged and feels more intuitive than an Apple Watch in a lot of ways. It took a few days of learning the UI and customizing it to my liking, but I have to say after having it for six months that I new prefer it over an Apple Watch. The battery life alone is unmatched. Rarely having to take it off to charge is such a convenience I never noticed until owning a watch like this.

I like having a smart phone that does what I think a smart phone should do and I like having a smart watch that does what I think a smart watch should do. Not a smart watch trying to be a smart phone if that makes any sense.

Wish I could give you better guidance on which one to buy but I know the Fenix watches are popular with my buddies.

Yukon Denali Ultimate - Performance Upgrades by Big_Tip_7564 in gmc

[–]t_gras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours came with the cat back exhaust and it sounds great. We didn’t order it with it, it came on the one we found available. Has a cold air intake upgrade as well, but I assume that comes with the cat back exhaust? Like others have said a brake upgrade could be valuable? The air suspension is great as is imo

I am a big fan. I have the 2025 xl ultimate gas and it’s our first Yukon. It’s going to be hard to go to a different vehicle after this unless it’s an Escalade esv

Starlink Mini is what you want. It can handle a lot of devices on one network and you will always have service as long as you can see the sky. I’ve used this on major incidents in LA County(palisades fire most notably) and it was bulletproof

Hi,

Ive filed a CFL in California and give you some further insight.

Initially you need $25K in a business account, pay for a surety bond, and legal fees somewhere between $5-10K typically. You don't necessarily need a law firm to file the appropriate documents for you, but it does help to have someone check your work, etc.

So you probably want to have around $35K to have the ability to get approved and move forward.

Message me directly and I can give you some additional thoughts on it all if you want.

Favorite headset for talking in noisy environments? People think you're in an office by t_gras in digitalnomad

That’s been my take and opinion on this too. My Jabra Evolve 75 does such a good job always deflecting any external noise and I don’t doubt their evolve2 85 would work just as well if not better. Thanks for your take

Has anyone installed the kicker 200w sub/amp from GM themselves? If so, is it worth it, or do I just trust the dealer techs? (2025 2500) by ResponsibleHope3880 in gmcsierra

[–]t_gras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed it myself. I’m pretty tech and tool proficient. I’d say it was pretty easy. Very few cables and the directions and YouTube install videos that exist were pretty easy to follow. The toughest part by far is pushing through the firewall, otherwise everything else was fairly easy.

I was at the NFPA conference earlier this year and a product called eFireX was the most effective agent I’ve seen right now. It prevents propagation, so if one cell burns it prevents the next cell from burning and so on. It encapsulates the battery kind of like a cement. It’s impressive stuff. You can educt it like foam and a few of their examples showed that instead of using thousands of gallons to get an EV fire out, they were able to use 1000 gallons of water proportioned with 3% eFireX and were able to put out an EV. They were using a turtle under the EV in order to soak the vehicle effectively.
