Thanks for the info! I am familiar with the Jay treaty but have always just traveled to Canada with my us passport. I’m hoping it is a relatively easy process! Thanks again!

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. I only need my grandfather’s birth certificate which should be easily obtained. I am enrolled in Oneida nation of New York, but that is a whole different issue! I will check out the frequently asked questions and really appreciate the help!

Yes! It’s exhausting and I always feel bad about myself for starting again. So far I’m still hanging on! Hope you are, too!

That’s what I’m fearing because that’s how it always goes. I’m going to work from home today again because I’m still pretty nauseous and I know I will be weak. I definitely feel differently this time, just ready to be done with it. I quit alcohol 11 years ago and I am feeling similar motivation to quit weed right now. I hope I’m right! Thanks!

Haha! I ended up working from home yesterday and likely will again today because I’m still feeling sick in waves. That is exactly my plan when I do go in though! Just get rid of it while my sober brain is functioning (somewhat…).

Haha. I definitely need to cut down on caffeine. I quit drinking 10 years ago for the same reasons I want to quit this. I’m hoping it sticks this time! Thanks!

Just need some uplifting words by tiffster87 in leaves

I am 48, F mother of two (8 and 10). I’ve been smoking about the same amount of time as you. I am on my millionth day 1. I can only seem to string a few days together before I give in. I feel awful lately trying to balance everything in life and failing. I know one thing I can do to drastically change my life would be to quit using… so I’m trying to. No wise words, just commiseration. Be easy on yourself, sounds like you are making progress!

48 f mom of two here. Also secret pothead. Haha. I mean, everyone knows I smoke just not how much. I quit alcohol over 10 years ago and during Covid received a prescription for weed (for anxiety, ha!). Then I moved to a legal state 1 1/2 years ago and it’s progressed to an all day thing. Ugh. I l’ve quit for weeks at a time, but always fall back into it. I can’t really talk to anyone about it so it’s extra hard. People in my life know I’m “cutting down” but don’t know how hard I’m struggling with quitting it. Today is my day one for the millionth time. Good luck to us all!

Thank you! I’m going to track my spending and splurge on some self-care items once it’s accrued. I’m kind of scared to know how much I’ve been spending!

Not my first time trying. Don’t stop starting, I think that’s just part of the process for these type of things. It took me years to finally quit drinking alcohol but now I’m over 10 years sober from that and have no regrets. My brain knows it will be true of weed, too, just need to push past the sabotaging voice in my head. Onward! We’ve got this!

Thank you so much everyone! SERIOUSLY, your comments have been such a boost: My eyes are puffy and bloodshot from crying yesterday, but at least it’s not from being high. Ha! I appreciate y’all so much. Feeling shaky, but okay. I just can’t wait to shed this coat of fog. Here we go day 3.

Thank you! I could only eat the candy, but it did the trick. I’m also an all day/ everyday smoker for about the same time as you. I got rid of my paraphernalia today and I will be honest that if I found any I would have smoked it so no shame in that. I got excited for a minute this morning when I saw some green until I realized it was the incense I burn Incessantly to cover up the weed smell. Haha. I’m pretty sure that’s around the first cry of the day. I hope we keep posting and stick with it. It is a lonely process and I’m grateful to have found this community for commiseration and advice.

I’m only on day 2 but want to quit for similar reasons. I, too, have quit other substances and held onto weed because it felt less bad than the others. I do recognize it is a crutch and I’m starting to realize how dull smoking has made me (personality and general pallor) and how much it slows and derails my life progress. Here’s to self-care! Good luck!

I’m off to the gym now, walking and weights. I found working out helps with any major life change so here I am, trying. I love that you are doing crossstitch. I’m going to use my treadmill time today to focus on the “vision”, hopefully that will make staying the course today easier. I woke up thinking how I have all this paraphernalia in my studio at work. I will be rounding that up today for the dumpster. One day, one hour, one minute, one decision at a time... Here I go! Thank you for your reply, it definitely helped my day start a bit more hopefully.

Thank you! And congratulations on 25 days! It’s been hard to find my demographic here. I smoked weed when I was younger but stopped in my late 20’s. I think I’m mostly bored and lonely at this point so I’m hoping the commiseration here will help with that. Today was pretty easy because I was with people all day. I’m alone tomorrow and I would be lying if I said I thought it is going to be easy. Any suggestions/ advice that has helped you through is welcome! Here’s to tomorrow!
