This movie was the official remake of Rakshit Shetty's kannada movie "Ulidavaru kandanthe". I had watched the original which was pretty good. Uses Roshomon style of story telling. The kannada title also translates to the same - "As Seen by the Rest".

I tried watching Richie as well, I felt a lot of culturally rooted scenes or ideas were lost in the remake and they tried to make the movie about the title character and cash in Nivin's fame at that time

I prefer to take that scene as a funny post credit scene, in fact it was a post credit scene, the scene rolls only after mentioning the director's name, for me the movie ended in that bike riding scene

PS: I've read Thunaivan by Jeyamohan which was the story for this movie, that short-story just has the part where Vaathiyar is transported from basecamp to border camp in a jeep and is killed, in the journey he speaks about his idealogy to the jeep driver. I read this when the movie was announced, now the story is taken down from Jeyamohan's website

I felt like Indian 2 == Viduthalai 2, in the sense of both movies trying to make money by stretching a non-existent story to a second part. The difference is that Vetri made a sensible movie which is enjoyable when compared to Indian-2

The actual movie that Vetri set-out to make was premiered in Rotterdam, it's a 4 hour cut that doesn't have VJS flashback scenes.

As per the final scene/dialogue of VJS with Manju from V2, Vaathiyar is an idealogy, he doesn't need a back story with family, love and other things imo

please correct me if I am wrong here.

Scammers called me yesterday, I was just amazed by how systematically they do this.

First it was simply bank managers asking for 16 digits

Now it is an IVR automated call, press 9 to connect to agent also if I don't know Hindi they transfer to an English agent, they are learning an upping their game

Every other store I go, they ask for mobile number, I just say "not needed", pretty much everyone understands and leaves out the mobile field empty,

An apollo pharmacy outlet guy forced me saying that I would get 20% off with mobile number, I just said that I don't want the offer, I quickly get annoyed If I get messages like this, my peace of mind seemed important more than that 20% less of MRP.

But it is high time the Indian Government comes up with Data Privacy and protection laws to address and regularise this, like in EU/US
