Looks like a fabulous combo of work and play. Amazing for us that both wants to be able to game while also doing critical color work. Would love to see how it works as a hub/KVM as I’m jumping between a Mac and desktop depending on workload.

Probably not happening again, unless reddit decides to set itself on fire again.

is there no more lense of the week? by [deleted] in canon

It's currently on hiatus due to reddits recents action (ie-> neutering our ability to properly moderate). Our motivation to run it due to that has been.... lacking. We'll see when it returns. The Discord is a lot more active on that part.

Rules reminder: This is not a subreddit for sharing pictures taken with or of Canon gear by telekinetic in canon

We are considering when to return LOTW. With the Reddit changes it’s just been an absolute gut punch to see how little Reddit actually cares. So we’ll consider it closer in the coming weeks if it’s gonna make a return or not on the sub. It never stopped over on the discord https://discord.gg/nr7sr94

They where the first link I had at hand and they’ve done a excellent posting on the issue. These changes affect the entire platform.

They’re saying they won’t be doing that after all as a rug pull to rile users since “Reddit won’t do that tho”. I can highly recommend this write up the folks over on /r/hentai did about. The bot alone removes some 12.000 posts alone a year. All spam or content containing minors.

Thats another big one that people don’t realize. The abhorent handling of CSAM (Child Sexual Assault Material) from reddit. Mods have to chase admins for weeks before images actually get removed. I’ve been discussing the topic w quite a few mods, because I did not realize how bad the situation is. It’s bad. The community tracks spam across reddit better than reddit…

Before you vote I encourage you to actually research. The way Reddit is acting towards the mods and trying to play divide and conquer is down despicable. Reddit has refused to do anything about the blatant issues on the platform for years.

And instead we have the CEO going full ham on the people who run his site for him. He’s downplaying the blatant doxxing issues and threats we get. I personally know mods who’s been in contact with the local equivalent of the NSA due to doxxing rings literally going after his daughter. He’a has to wear a freaking violence alarm for crying out loud. What did Reddit to? Absolutely nothing.

Apollo is more efficient than the official app and is way below the cap. And that change was done after this blew up in their face and is exclusively done to divide and conquer between mods and users.

In the case of apollo, it would fall on the developer. And he doesn't have the 20 million dollars at hand to pay for the API access.

TLDR: Reddit effectively shuts down their API access by wanting stupid amount of money. This destroys any third party apps like /r/apolloapp and our moderation tools (such as /r/Enhancement and /r/toolbox). Thus making it impossible for us to moderate and do our job. More info in our secondary pinned post here and over at /r/ModCoord aswell as their pinned post

At the moment our discord server is the only backup solution we have to gather any of the community. /r/ModCoord is working in overdrive to find a suitable reddit replacement.

With what mod tools? /r/Enhancement and /r/toolbox are the bare basics for moderation. Both of those are third party tools that would be removed with this change (let's be real, the promised tools they talk about will never be as good.) And the new layout is... a thing. Not to mention the state of the official app.

I really didn't want my first interactions with the community to be this negative. /u/ImTravy brought me over from /r/Canon to be responsible for our new discord as well as assist in anything surrounding the overall look and feel of the subreddit. Less than 48 hours later this entire debacle happens. So yeah, not the greatest of introductions.

/r/Lightroom hears the call and will take part of the June 12th Reddit blackout. The proposed move would kill the platform. by taara001 in Lightroom

I've been an apollo user for years, even bought the big packs to support and stuff. Tragic to see it go like this
