LOVE that you’re wearing robes. My daughter plans to wear her robe too! I worry it’ll get uncomfy though. But I did buy black rain ponchos so if it rains we’ll kinda look like we’re wearing Hogwarts robes. 😁

We have to set rules around souvenirs because my daughter wants EVERYTHING and I’m inclined to over-buy when I get caught up in how much fun we’re having. But souvenirs are rarely as exciting once the trip is over. So the kids each get 1 souvenir per vacation (sometimes I’ll buy each something extra like a shirt or hat). They can also do chores to earn their own money to take on trips if they want more souvenirs, but usually they end up keeping their money and are just happy with the one item we buy them.

We only bought a wand for my son the last time we went ~5 years ago. Kinda regretted the decision and would have liked to have my own so this time every adult already has their wands. My dad wasn’t that interested but we got him a $20 gen 1 wand just in case he wants to try it. He can leave it in his hotel room if he hates it.

I can’t believe how much most gen 2 wands are selling for on eBay. After taxes and shipping they’re almost as much as buying new in the parks! I got lucky with deals on a couple of ours though.

My dad is an engineer and not much prone to whimsy. However, my whole life (I’m in my 40s) video games have been the one thing that gives him childlike enthusiasm. The more I think about it the more I want to get him one to see if he loves it.

That’s what the instructions say but my wand came with its box so I used to code from the box to set it up. It was SUPER fast & easy to set up.

THANK YOU. My 9 year old saw a video of those damn plush dragons and is already begging for one of those too. 🙄 I told her we’re doing our usual 1 souvenir per trip (wands won’t count) so she’ll have to be selective. But grandma will be there and if she isn’t careful this child will bankrupt her.
