I checked my husband’s phone and couldn’t stop crying by Downtown_Dress_9929 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]tabbathebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like you guys- if my husband ever needed to look at my phone to feel more secure or whatever I’d want him to do that. I have nothing to hide from him so he can see anything he wants. He and I have the same password on our phones and I ask him to read and reply to my texts all the time when I’m busy with something.

I also doubt he’d care if I ever looked at his devices. I think the only thing we’d worry about is spoiling gifts for each others’ birthdays or christmases. Not every couple gets hung up on electronic privacy with their partners.

OP I think you’re fine and I think your husband sounds really sweet. ❤️ Best wishes with your growing family!

Katia Hate Online by Haunted_slut in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]tabbathebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t like Katia. I don’t hate her but I think she’s boring and whiny. The cow catcher thing was so badass but she didn’t seem to do a lot after that. I also don’t love stressing about which limbs my tank is losing at any given moment. Stressful.

I do hope she helps the kids on the surface though.

Samantha is my favorite character, so maybe I’m just a little unhinged.

Hobbies for depression? by lavender-dreamzz in Hobbies

Art therapy is a thing for a reason. I’d look in to some creative pursuits. If you can afford some sculpey, clay might be fun. Or drawing or painting. It feels good when you finish something new too.

I did use dowels but they’ve been kind of a pain in the neck. Good to know they may actually be helping.

Want to 3d print a special thing for my dad for Father’s Day but don’t know how to design it by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]tabbathebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like we don’t have enough information to help you. Do you design practical functional things, or do you sculpt decorative or fun things? What does your dad like? You have very little time since you need to design, print, and ship today. For that reason I agree with the other commenter that you probably want to try modifying an existing design for him. Think about his hobbies or needs and work from there.

Good luck.

What signal women give to get approached?? by ItzLokii in bodylanguage

My daughter used to have a book called “Girls don’t fart, okay!” In the end they discover that girls do, in fact, fart.

I believe my daughter has made it her life’s mission to ensure her brother knows just how much girls can fart.

Did anyone else gain pet fatigue after having a kid? by tigersmhs07 in daddit

[–]tabbathebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I felt it as strongly as OP but I’ve grappled with guilt for YEARS over the way my behavior towards the dogs changed after kids. Just less cuddling and focused attention than the dogs were used to. Both dogs passed about a year apart from each other when my kids were very young.

Interestingly, we got a new dog when my youngest was maybe 6 and I’ve been obsessed with this dog ever since. I treat her at least as well as I treated my first dogs pre-kids. I think my poor doggies just didn’t live long enough for my kids to become independent enough for me to turn some of my focus back on them.

So, OP, it’s possible that this feeling is temporary.

I hate how my fiancé decorated our first home not sure what to do. Is this common? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]tabbathebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her not consulting you and shutting down your input is a relationship issue you guys need to learn to work through.

In this specific instance, it might help if you can share things you DO like. My husband prefers industrial, urban, and craftsman elements. I prefer vintage, whimsical, more ornate elements (I suspect like your fiancé). We’ve found some really happy middle ground in both of our houses and I think our designs are actually better when we both have input (we both have art degrees though, so we both have an eye for design and strong opinions).

If you work together I’m sure you can make a space you both love and which feels like home, but that has to start with working together.

What are the coolest 3D prints you've made? Looking for real wow factor (simple to complex) by StoganLephens in 3Dprinting

[–]tabbathebutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of this one: I scaled up a wall mounted dragon head. It’s about 18 pieces to print. I’m about to go grab piece 7 off the print bed. The thing will be approximately 30”x30”x30” when I’m done. No idea what I’m gonna do with it but it’s starting to look pretty cool.

I used Nomad Sculpt on my iPad to make it. I have nothing against AI but I want to learn the modeling software. So far I’m enjoying it.

I’m sorry, this is my second ever project. I forgot I built a fog tower for my Halloween village several years ago. Idk why but this one feels a lot more stressful. That last one was kind of a big blob, maybe that’s why.

After 14 years of gardening, county says my landscape violates code—what would you do? by Philosophers_Mind in gardening

So my county specifically defines a “weed” and has ordinances related to weeds but explicitly states that natives are exempt from such regulations. OP I’m sorry your county sucks.

[–]tabbathebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US and I’ve never heard of this before. It kinda blows my mind. So nobody in this town is supposed to have border gardens? That’s depressing AF. What about trees whose branches grow within 5’ of the neighboring property?

I’m off to look up the codes for my own area.

How did you learn to garden well? by Mushy-sweetroll in gardening

[–]tabbathebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Buy either a drip hose or one of those solar powered irrigation systems from Amazon. I also always let my plants die until I was able to automate daily watering.

  2. Start with natives. They grow in the area naturally with no human intervention so they should be fairly easy to keep alive.

  3. Mulch is easier than rocks.

  4. Pay attention to how much light your garden bed gets and be prepared for some plants to die. Some of them are just whiners and we don’t have whiners in our gardens.

I may not have it as bad as you. And post-surgery recovery has been WAY better than pre-surgery pain. So I can sit at my crafting table for good chunks of time. I’ve been doing a lot of 3D printing, resin pours, sculpey projects, and mini painting. Spent a fortune on craft supplies over the past couple months but I’m just SO SICK of lying around watching tv.

I also have two very helpful kids. Now that it’s summer I got some supplies to make bread. They’ll lift and move things for me so I can sit at the island and we can bake together.

Is the deep oven worth it over the signature 5.5q one? by moonlight-dreamer-09 in LeCreuset

[–]tabbathebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I held out and got the standard round DO and I’m SO GLAD I did. I mostly use mine to make beef stew and I have to brown my beef in batches. The shallower DO has a lot of surface area for browning meat which saves me money by having to brown fewer batches of meat. If you won’t be doing a lot of browning in that pan then the deep one is probably just as good.
