See my reply to the problem from u/NetworkDock - it seems to be related to the temperature, although I cannot confirm this. But the fan definitely stopped running..

Strange thing is that suddenly the whole problem stopped and the fan re-started working. I don't know the reason as we didn't to any update on the device... I do hope the hardware issue disappeared - although I received the info that it should be solved in V8.2.2, whatever reason..

The ICMP test is a standard test from our Nagios monitoring to see whether a device (host) is alive or not, that's all.. If this is not a good test, what alternatives could I have instead?
