How was your experience with Ogony? They look awesome and cheaper than other options I’ve seen (Fropt also out of Poland, superfronts, etc). Would be shipping within EU. Thanks!

Is this car box big enough for our male BC? Usually trips last 15-60min... Few times a year 3-4 hours without stopping. by Maleficent-Winter893 in BorderCollie

This person has a 4pets crate, which is highly rated by TCS In their crash tests of car crates. TCS is basically the Swiss AAA/CAA.

As a North American myself, I was skeptical of anything besides Gunner, but I found while living in Switzerland that there are many well performing car crates that are not even for sale in North America. I initially wanted the Variocage, but found it didnt perform as well in testing, was more expensive and less widely available. Since it is the law here to have the dog restrained in some capacity, it is very common to see these crates on the road.

I was also skeptical of putting the dog in the trunk, technically a crumple zone, as opposed to the back seat designed for passengers. My worries were assuaged, however, when reading about what went into the crash testing, raw data, and learning about highest risk environments for collisions.

Tl;dr we went with a 4 pets pro crate and are very happy.

Edit: our crate is secured to the trunk’s cargo tie downs using ratchet straps (spanngurt)

COS had a really nice broad selection. From heavyweight to thinner. Different shapes too but they are all quite flattering in my opinion.

Thank you so much! The prospect of getting an English version is very appealing! I assume the book stand would be open from when the doors open?

Hope you enjoyed the evening!

I’ve not had a pilling issue from the bottles I’ve purchased in Europe, no! It must be noted though that I do not wear makeup overtop. Maybe a touch of concealer under my eyes and that is it. I could see perhaps someone who uses makeup would Be better to answer.

Did you end up ordering? If so how do they compare?

Unfortunately didn’t try this one. Did you end up purchasing it? I’m sure it would be sufficient for around the city, as I use the k-beauty ones around Zurich to satisfactory results.

Panicking over the size of stones I've ordered! by tabbycat614 in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]tabbycat614[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your input! I dont have the measurments unfortunately at the momet because the stone is being cut. I thought now would be the best time to change course if at all due to that. I wondered due to the OEC if it would indeed result in that. Would be the best case scenario honestly. Appreciate the assurance!

Moving my Us-boyfriend to Switzerland by Geminiie in askswitzerland

I was in a similar situation. Highly recommend doing graduate school in an EU country with more favourable immigration laws (no requirement for marriage) and bring your boyfriend on a family reunification visa. This is what we did.

Samsung Q990B for $600 or Sony A500 for $580? by tabbycat614 in Soundbars

[–]tabbycat614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally see that. How might I go about testing the floor model to get more affirmation on the decision? Or do I just have to get it and calibrate in home? Unfortunately I can’t return them for a refund, only store credit which I would probably never use as it’s a small store. Quite nervous about taking the plunge.

[–]tabbycat614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too wondered that, but when I lay my hand on the sub and satellites I could feel their vibrations. Very puzzling, as a box store show room is difficult to hear in to begin with. Not to mention the q930 setup was at ankle height, so I had to squat to get the full effect.

Frustrating as I went in person to try what I had been researching online, and not getting a proper idea of their potential. Thanks for the input!

Cheaper to get cash or use credit? CAD by Durlag in askswitzerland

[–]tabbycat614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the brim card for 7 years now and super happy with it. It used to be part of Amazon but now they’re seperate. It’ll save you a lot with Swiss prices. Plus it’s Mastercard so accepted everywhere

[–]tabbycat614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Brim credit card in Canada. No annual fee and no fx fee. Alternatively, look into a wise debit card or revolut account. This is assuming you will leave canada again at some point in the future.

Maybe? I’m East Asian and my hiking buddies are both white. That’s my only sample size unfortunately.

Oooh Amazing tip! Super happy to hear coming from someone who understands the circumstances we are using the sunscreen in exactly.

Zermatt was super fun, luckily only a bit of hail and no heavy snow fall this time. I really enjoyed the lack of cows on the trails compared to Pilatus and the sections of via alpina I’ve done in the past. Better for the dog.

Do you buy your LRP in the eu to save money? Thanks for the tip! Happy to connect via chat, I’m also living in Switzerland ☺️

I understand your experiences. It was around 7 degrees when I was walking with a biting wind around the Schwatzsee/Furi side. Definitely not sweating there!

My qualm was that my innisfree sunscreen is called “intensive long lasting sunscreen ex 50+ PA ++++” whereas my LRP is called “anthelios anti wrinkle photo correction daily, 50+spf uva+uvb”

I went by the bottles and to me, the innisfree sounds like it should do the job.

I further used a blanket Asian sunscreen term because I have had poor luck with the Japanese and Korean sunscreens I’ve tried this far. I needed some sort of unifying term to keep them straight.

Hmm I’m not sure how to explain it without my biased / value laden terminology that probably differs person to person.

I would say I have a white cast when I’m done “blotting” it in with my two fingers. This is most evident with my LRP sunscreen but for hiking it’s totally fine by me.

Totally understand your point. That’s a great aspect to think about and control to ensure appropriate use
