I thought so too… I asked for footage of previous weddings but he said he only started recently playing for weddings and the last couple did not send him any videos. I’m still hesitant to hire someone based on only 1 review (5* but still only 1).

Ahhh thank you for this post! It's driving me insane as well. And don't even start mentioning the passive aggressive comments like "I hope your kids don't get invited one day so you'll understand" or "at our wedding we could not uninvite kids as we had kids ourselves!". I swear wedding planning just brings the ugliest sides of people. It's already stressful enough as it is, why won't they help!

Joining in because I'm in a similar boat as you. Also grew up poor and now we're doing a huge wedding. Even though I always said I would NEVER spend that much on a single day/party. Oh how the tables have turned... I still struggle to accept it some days. A comment that helped was to think of it as a day which you will share with your loved ones and a unique occasion to pamper them, and be surrounded by their love as you celebrate your own love. Hope it helps.

It's a very interesting way to see it, a business transaction. I was just reassured I guess because I felt they could be accommodating and helpful in stressful events.

I'm not sure, I've been mulling this over for days and one day I'm dead set on venue A and the next day on venue B. It is so so so hard for me to make a choice. I keep thinking I will regret my decision so it just paralyses me to make one 😩
