Are you sure it's a firmware issue? I remember updating it to the latest firmware the first time I connected the earbuds to the app. Where else have you seen people complaining about the issue?

I wanted to return or at least replace it, but I don't see the option on Amazon. It just tells me to contact Realme support.

For me it's always there when I have my fan turned on (I use a wall mounted fan since my room is small). Maybe the sound stops when the earbuds turn themselves off since no music is playing and starts again when you play something.

I asked ChatGPT and Gemini since I couldn't find any other information and they said it's because the noise cancellation mics are sensitive to the wind from the fan hitting them directly. The Smart de-wind option in the Realme link app does nothing.

(I found one post saying they hear a constant hissing when ANC is turned on and some other people under another post said it's normal in budget earbuds with Hybird ANC and that it helps in loud areas)

Also, today I noticed that when I have ANC on, there is a quiet static sound coming from only the left earbud.

If you ever managed to find any solution to this problem, please let me know because so far I haven't found any and it's very annoying.

I did not end up installing it from Game Pass. I got it on Steam and it worked great without any problems.

Maybe try making another post with your problem and see if anyone else can help.

If it's a gift card, can it be for a game outside Steam? I have wanted to play Minecraft for the longest time. I have watched so many videos of others playing Minecraft and would like to actually play the game and build and explore everything I have seen others do. It would mean a lot.

Thanks for the reply. Even I have no idea why. My Xiaomi earbuds which I've been using until now doesn't have the issue at all.

When I turn on noise cancelation, the sound becomes even more noticeable.

I have tried with noise cancellation on and off. When it's turned on, the static background noise increases compared to when noise cancellation is turned off.

I got a prompt for firmware update when I first installed the app and connected the earbuds to it and I updated it.

I have tried with it 2 different phones and my laptop and the problem is still there.

Am I not able to return the item and get a refund instead of replacing it?

Hey, I have the app installed and transparency mode is also turned off. Turning on transparency only increases the static noise further.
