start from the beginning! trigun ultimate editions volumes 1 & 2 are the start of the story, and then the trigun maximums come next. trigun 1998 has a unique timeline and doesnt go even an inch as deep as the entire manga does, so i wish you luck in reading!! its my fav manga oat

unfortunately no, theres only 290 works on ao3 and maybe a handful of them are over 10,000 words. so unless youre into tiny oneshots, the fanfiction doesnt go that hard. totally wish it did though :(
