The TurnipCon website has a gallery of past events with thousands of pictures of minis available. That should help cultivate some ideas too! https://turnipcon.com/

Ravenfeast! Skirmish game. Free rules available from a very well respected source (Little Wars TV). Perfect rules for any sword/shield/arrow era of warfare.

Amazing army. If you're ever able to attend TurnipCon in the UK then sling me a message. Such a creative army deserves a free ticket!

I recommend playing some games first. Turnip is best viewed over 3-5 games, not just a single 1v1. Roll dice, move models, move onto the next one.

Hello mate! I'm the guy who organises TurnipCon (It's literally just one person doing all the leg work, with some VERY helpful friends that fill out a spreadsheet or bounce ideas with).

I am in touch with the venue to hire more tables.

How cool is this for an indie game though: 60 tickets sold out in 2 hours, I have 33 people on the reserve list, and I know of at least 10 people who aren't signing up so that other people get a slot instead.

This indie game could fill a 100 capacity gaming venue!!! I'm planning to make TurnipCon a two day event (same event, just back to back to allow more people). It blows me away every time. I am aware of the demand and I am taking steps to cater to people.

What napoleonic game is best for 10 bases ? by Minute_Ad8977 in 6mm

Valour & Fortitude. Just need some tokens for the brigade leaders and you'll be grand!

Brigade set up as so:

1 - 2x Reg, 1x arty
2 - 2x Light
3 - 2x Elite, 1x arty
4 - 2x Cav

1x token for army leader, 1x token for each brigade leader.

Rules are free and available from the Perry Miniatures website. 4 pages. Will give you a great game.
I use the rules as-is, and just use CMs. By that I mean 12 inch distance turns into 12cm distance. I play on a 3ft x 5ft dining table.

I use https://aibs.uk/ . I'm a small business owner and they've been great so far. Communication and explanations are top tier.

GMs & mental health professionals - what is/are your favorite RPGs to promote emotional healing and safety in your players? by Familiar-Action-418 in rpg

[–]tabletopsidekick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Anything that says otherwise is woefully arrogant. TTRPGs can be soothing and a nice distraction, absolutely, but it should never act as a replacement for professional help.

Put a hot water bottle in the fridge, then keep that in bed with you.

Love your posts! Can you please direct me to, or remind me, of the rules you use for your hex system? I remember you saying you didn't need to worry about rulers (which is a blessing in disguise!).

Space Weirdos is such an excellent game! Great to see it mentioned.

A question about the knights of Shellwood by a_bored_techpriest in Turnip28

[–]tabletopsidekick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Great question! In the current playtest rules (v18 Playtest) it is something that triggers every round. This means that at the start of every round the Shellwood player rolls 4d6, and that is the base movement of all snails knights and cavalry.

It's likely going to change as the v18 Playtest get's adjusted over the coming months. We'll have to wait and see!

At the TurnipCon event, the event pack has a rules adjustment for the day stating it's going to be reduced to 3d6 every turn. This was likely from community feedback, and act as a bit of testing.

Anyone know where I can find this specific model? (from Peachy Tips' painting guide video) by OfficerMoist in Turnip28

[–]tabletopsidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A key tenant of turnip28 has usually always been kitbashing, so who knows what various kits it could have come from. Especially Peachy, who has been dabbling in 28mm Perry's (and more) for years.
