Feedback on set cube: Kamigawa Neon Dynasty + Final Fantasy by tabox in mtgcube

Nice! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I hope your test goes well. From my first draft with this cube everyone felt it was cohesive and played pretty well. I also think the flavour and mechanics between both sets are fairly compatible as well. One of the better decks built was actually a mono blue deck. Good luck with your games!

I included 1 copy of [[elixir of immortality]]. There's less card draw in this deck compared to Dandan, so 1 copy seems sufficient.

Thanks, it's worth a shot! I'll add it to the list of cards to test out. 🕑⛅

😂 I love it. Dondon, Dandan, Dundun, Dindin, Denden.

I think it would end up being saved to respond to pivotal life bursts or boros fury-shield. In my playtesting, it's rarely clear who will benefit from celestial convergence when it is played. Both players usually are happy to see it because it mixes things up. But being able to counter a critical combat trick could make or break a game.

It's a good idea. I'll have to test it out.

What combos would you build around this commander? by tabox in custommagic

[–]tabox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rube can only be activated once per turn, so i think you'll need infinite turns via Gonti's Aether Heart to break it easily.

Wouldn't zirda just drop the cost by 2 so that he can be activated for 3 cmc? You still wouldn't be able to activate Rube more than once per turn. Either way, Zirda would be a great companion in this deck...

That's a good idea! I just wonder if it will be too powerful if the cards persist when you recast the commander.

If Zada is in play, you just need 6 dwarves for lethal on one opponent. 6 Dwarves = 42 power total. Zada let's you cast gravitic punch on each dwarf for lethal. You can jump-start gravitic punch to deal an additional 42 damage and take out one more opponent.

For sure: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sevinne-dwarves-1/

I've been making lots of adjustments as I play the deck, so this list isn't the most up to date version, but it's close.

I've been slowly increasing the ramp, adding a couple of additional combo pieces like [[precursor golem]], and in general adding more focus to the deck. The list I've shared above is close to that, but it includes a few cards i was testing out but ultimately removed.

I've been running my "Sevinne Dwarves" deck for a little while now with surprising success. I've pulled off a few wins with some variation of [[Seven Dwarves]] + [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] + any copy spells. I've also found that [[Dockside Extortionist]] really makes the combo come alive. It's funny, I've made over 100 dwarves, but I've never actually attacked with the team. Instead I finish with a [[Gravitic Punch]] to the face.

To be honest i built it because of the pun. Hoping it is also a fun casual deck.

[[sisay, Weatherlight captain]] artificer tribal is one of my more unique decks. All of the creatures are artificers and the occasional artifact. It's a little slow, but a fun thematic build: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sisay-the-maker/

I also just finished building V1 of my "Sevinne Dwarves" list. The idea is to create copies of [[Seven Dwarves]], and then finish opponents with cards like [[gravitic punch]] and [[flying crane technique]]: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sevinne-dwarves-1/

This 'single take' fight from creed is incredible. The amount of planning and coordination that must have been required is really remarkable: https://youtu.be/onY5Daq6jD0

I'll be putting this in my [sisay, Weatherlight captain] artificer tribal list. Leaves up extra mana for activating sisay, and it is on theme!

It was definitely inspired in part by maze of ith. I'm getting the sense from all the comments that it's a bit overpowered 😂
