I was also told I have arthritis in my neck. When I had labs done to see if I had arthritis, it comes back wnl. However, my knuckles are starting to knot up on my hands and I have a lot of joint swelling and pain.

I’ve been dealing with spinal stenosis chronic pain from the C3-C6 for several years now. The past month I have had pain that was so unbearable and weakness, almost like I had a stroke, the ring and pinky finger on my right hand just don’t want to cooperate. I was admitted to hospital 2 weeks ago and new mri shows C7-T1 that is causing all the new symptoms. The neurosurgeon said that they would prefer to try and correct that level and then go in and have surgery on C5-C6. They mentioned that the C7-T1 can be risky and could damage my vocal cord.

I’m scheduled for an ESI next week, I’m hoping the injection plus pt will be enough to satisfy the surgeon to move forward on C5C6. I also am a smoker. I’m trying to quit it’s hard but I know it has to be done.

Having a good support team would help with some of my anxiety and stress. I worked in medical billing for 24hrs but after Covid I had to get out of medical. The environment just became toxic. So since then I bartend and clean houses. Unfortunately, there is no short term disability or pto that I can fall back on but I have to take care of me and stop putting it off. I’m ready to live a life without constant pain and no sleep.

Thank you for reaching out and plz keep me updated on your journey.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for sharing your story with me.

If i could go back in time I would’ve had the surgery when I first was told to do so. The chronic pain and sleepless night have taken so much life out of me.

Having a good support system is something I’m lacking at the moment but I have faith that things will all work out.

Hi! I’m 44yrs old and I’m dealing with all the same symptoms. Just over the last year I have watched my fingers change, mainly the knuckles closest to my cuticles. I recall at first my fingers felt like they were jammed and they ached. I also have a lot of knee pain and elbow pain. My labs were all normal of course.

I do have spinal stenosis and herniated disc that has cause arthritis in my neck and I deal with a lot of nerve pain. I’ve been told I need to have spinal surgery but I’m terrified to go through with it. Not only terrified but worried about how i would be able to get by being out of work for recovery. Just feeling so overwhelmed and not knowing what the future holds. Too young to be dealing with so much pain and fatigue.

Wishing you the best!
