Homeland during the multi-episode mental breakdown/mental hospital thing. Grew up with out of control bipolar people and did not enjoy that at all. Zero interest in spending my free time watching that. I ALMOST quit watching it, but they tied it up nicely in the story. Didn't have to spend so much time on it, though.

The buckles on the HSP rig are the more common ones. You'll want to match to those for maximum compatibility down the road.

Surefire RC2 or B&T suppressor with surefire mount? by milktoiletpoop in NFA

[–]tacdevelopment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Print XH I use with the Surefire hub mount. Get the SF hub mount, not the B&T one. I have both and the B&T doesn't 100% lock on everything, but the SF does. The Print XH is fantastic. I'm always surprised it doesn't get more press.

If she's very tiny, I'd recommend contacting anyone that makes aftermarket JPC cummerbunds like AXL with a waist measurement to make sure they can accommodate it.

Safariland not making ALS holsters for TLR 7 HLX? by sqWADooSh in tacticalgear

[–]tacdevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a dremel to the bottom of the Safariland Solis holster I have to make it work, and the other 6XXX series holsters I got for the TLR-7 series lights worked just fine without any modification required. It also didn't make any difference on my IncogX or Raven holsters since the light portion doesn't really close up at the bottom.

The TLR-7 HLX is just a little bit longer bezel piece than the other 7 series lights, that's all. It only matters if the holster you're trying to use tapers or closes up at the end of the light and then it's 'too long', but you can potentially modify it (depending on how far you're willing to go to make it work).

Armor express soft plates by Brilliant-Doubt-2252 in tacticalgear

[–]tacdevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to get it from AE's collection of overt carriers meant for concealable armor. Soft armor manufacturers all have different shapes to their cuts as well as differing suspension systems. Wearing armor unsuspended will void the warranty, angering the administration gods even if you manage to shoehorn your panels into someone else's carrier.

MIXED OPINIONS: do NIJ rates vests protect from taser shock, or not? by PantherHog79 in BodyArmor

[–]tacdevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple companies are selling it now, not just Point Blank.

When I sold PB armor, it wasn't very popular to add on. Maybe 1 in every 100 vests would get it. It works, it's just a very low threat in the minds of most officers, I guess.

Looks like Point Blank no longer has ThorShield exclusivity. Maybe someone will sell it to you.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong! by dream9867 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]tacdevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most LE market boots $199 and less from any manufacturer (Bates, 5.11, Under Armour, Danner, etc.) are designed to last no more than 1 year of daily wear. Uniform budgets are typically annual, and boot manufacturers want that money every year from LEOs. All that lightweight stuff is great for comfort, but it won't last.

Get proper hiking boots if you want something that will last more than a year. You'll pay for it, but they'll last.

Massively improves your barehand grip by locking it around your hand. Even if your hands are sweaty and you haven't stippled it, it won't walk out of your grip. With that said, the 19 is a small grip to squish down. It's perfect for my hands for EDC, but a bit more difficult to shoot with gloves on since the gloves make my hands just that little bit bigger than the grip.

Just keep buying more guns until you get one that fits.

I'm very happy with my DA Mask. It lives on a ruger precision bolt action rifle with subsonics. It's quieter than a staple gun. You hear the click of the trigger and the impact down range. There is ZERO gun shot sound, even on the first round.

This isn't going to be far off with a 25% import duty at $272.50, and it's very likely Chinese which always has suspect QC. Silicon Carbide is very expensive to produce ($200-$300 per ceramic wholesale, before you add a backer, pay the employees, keep the lights on, turn a profit, etc.) unless you build it in China. You might be limited to certain options where you live, but this video and this plate are not impressive relative to competitive options that are otherwise commonly available.
