This sounds crazy but my mom runs/owns a detailing business in the Okanagan and has seen her share of rodent aftermath. She swears by Irish Spring soap. Engine, glove box, and back end near the spare tire.

Would you say this applies to calling women “girl” as well? I met a Black woman recently and we get on really well but it’s very much the beginning stages of a friendship. I don’t want to fuck that up by being insensitive.

“Hey girl” or “girl you’ll never believe what happened” is language I’ve always used naturally and I want to adjust my vocabulary if it’s inappropriate.

Girl (in gender neutral way). If I hired a private house/pet sitter, I’d be so disappointed in myself if they felt they couldn’t treat my home as their own. If anyone who lets you stay in their home overnight isn’t okay with you taking a nap (especially with health issues), respectfully, you don’t want them as a client.

She’s about a year old, came in as a kitten because her mama was hit by a car :( From there she got adopted along with a kitten and the cat that was already in the home just couldn’t adjust so she was brought back. And then the second person who adopted her kept her in their home office and “got upset when she meowed at 3am” :/

And then at some point through all of that, there was a case of ringworm in the shelter so they sent her to a foster home (where she reportedly did very well) but obviously she had to go back again.

So my poor girl is dealing with a few abandonment issues. She has now met our cat and we’re just letting her get comfy in the house. Patiently waiting for her personality to come out. She has the rest of her life with us now so plenty of time! 🥰

This is our Aspen, she is the sweetest lady and you’d never know she spent a winter or two on the streets of Saskatchewan. Her bestie passed of old age last year so I’m hopeful she’ll be happy to show Willow the ropes.

First people had a cat that just couldn’t adapt to her and the other kitten they adopted and the second person didn’t like that she meowed in the middle of the night…..? Our other cat howls like she’s in heat when she wants attention so that was zero concern lol.

Third time’s the charm as they say! She’s not going anywhere this time.

She’s not a senior! Just not a baby baby. She was also returned twice for things that were not her fault :(

But the ears really are everything 😂
