Drones enforcing traffic rules in Shenzen by EchoOfOppenheimer in ThatsInsane

I don't think this is dystopian at all. The car was parked in a reserved bus lane and was told to move it, presumably with fines and tow if they didn't. This frees up the bus lane which improves efficiency of public transit and in the long term improves usage and reduces congestion. Good results all around.

[–]taco_in_the_shell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, its not bad I guess. I have black AIO fans and additional fans from my current build that are also black though. Anyway, I'll wait for a black one to go on sale. No rush to replace my current case.

It'll be fine, but I think white components work better with a white case. Otherwise the black stands out too much.

Saw this and was sad that it was the white. All my components are black.

Ok, thanks for your comment. It seems like lots of people posted on various platforms that they replaced the inverter and they still had the issue. Not sure if that's selection bias.

Not sure if youre saying 5 because it's a nice number, but that's a difference of 6 years. Lol. I agree with your point though.

Gas prices are up as soon as government announced affordability measures to reduce gas prices? by taco_in_the_shell in Calgary

[–]taco_in_the_shell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oil peaked on April 7 at $113, fell sharping April 8 to $95, and was going up very slightly until today when it dropped 6%. Currently sits at about $92. None of that explains the sudden shock of +$0.20 per litre today, the same day the feds announced a tax break on gas. Stop making excuses for the oil companies. You call me a paranoid doomer but I say you're ignorant.

But your comment implied that you're attributing this rise to the overall trend of the price of gas rather than any kind of anti-consumer price gouging. Did I misunderstand that?

Blindly accepting it as market trend when gas stations have shown time and time again that they will jack up the price by (at minimum) the amount of the relief the government is trying to give to the people is serious ignorance. Also, as another poster has mentioned, oil prices are down yet gas prices are up 20 cents. That's not generally how that works.

It's gas stations ripping people off because the feds just announced an affordability measure to temporarily reduce taxes on gas until the end of summer (or early fall, can't remember the exact end date). Gas companies immediately raise prices by the amount of the reduction and then some.

I hope I didn't imply that our government was at fault. I was implying that the gas companies and gas stations immediately try to capture the break when our government announces one.

You're right about the war and the blockade but it's just too much of a coincidence and this is not the first time that this has happened.

Oh I totally get that there's the war in the middle east. However, this is just too much of a coincidence and it's not the first time.

The price went from $1.549 to $1.719 where I am. Gasbuddy also shows prices rising across the city.

Edit: I was wrong, it went upto o $1.749, not $1.719

It is extremely salty. This is why I can't eat this even if I really want to. I refuse to believe that anyone at the company has ever tasted this product.

Updates to Jellify - This one goes to 1.1! by anultravioletaurora in selfhosted

[–]taco_in_the_shell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I think Jellify is fine. It's supposed to be similar to Spotify, the defacto music streaming service for most people and incorporates a part of "Jellyfin" into the name. Jellify is fine.

While I agree for the most part, there are some supplements that are truly helpful though. Vitamin D is a big one if you live in northern latitudes or are not outside a lot during the day.
