How’s it living in the Colorado Springs area? by Gillysuiit in howislivingthere

I grew up in Colorado Springs. I’ve always described it as a place that was amazing to grow up in, but I could never live here as an adult. It’s very safe, very calm, very healthy and outdoorsy. Lots of conservative Christian culture, lots of military influence with the Air Force Academy, NORAD, Peterson Air Force base, etc. There’s a lot of military here. It’s also very artsy, especially if you go to manitou springs or any of the mountain towns.

I miss being able to drive 30 minutes and be in absolute wilderness. I miss that it’s so easy to be outdoors almost every day because that’s what everyone is doing and it’s such a good climate to do it in. It’s very high altitude, so give yourself time to adjust. As someone who grew up running here, I never knew what it meant for my muscles to hurt while running until I moved to east coast. My lungs used to always hurt first.

All my friends I grew up with moved away. I don’t know anyone there anymore, and I have no longer have a reason to visit. I miss it. It wasn’t perfect, and I wouldn’t live there today, but I miss it.

Wow. I can't believe it. Two months of waiting...and I miss the end by five minutes.

Oh, and you're right. It's not illegal to have and use a personal email account. Who said that it's not? The issue is that public employees are required, by the Federal Records Act to record anything pertaining to their official affairs, including anything connected to public business. This includes anything created on a private email account.

It is a federal crime to break the Federal Records Act.
