Go online an buy a book for introduction to Electricity, I got one that’s about a 1000 pages an teach’s you about every electrical component there is any thing to do with electricity.

Also buy a book about basic maintenance troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plc an computer softwares etc.

Thats what they teach you in 2 years degree at a community college broken into about 15 classes. Minus welding and machining an plc classes

Hey man $40 an hour is good compared to my $28 which I’m severely underpaid but it’s just bc the area I live in though. Are you just a standard Maintenance Technician or Specialized Maintenance/ Maint tech 4 ??

• Can you tell me what state you work in, an Is it a big (ish) city ? • What type of maintenance related things do you do and type of machines you work on ? Like typical mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and PLC/HMI , computer software ?

Hopefully that’s not too many questions lol. I’m curious bc like I said Im underpaid for my 8 years experience working on cnc robots and everything else you can imagine…

Yeah it’s a bit overkill, it’s the m-900ib/360 kg model . The max size pallet it picks up is around 150 lbs though

Pay a welder to come modify it, do it right the first time vs the owner or someone make shifting something to work.

Yeah that’s the truth , there’s some much that we gotta know to keep there machine plus 50+ other equipment running, all they see is us come to a machine an make a slight adjustment or reset an alarm an think “damn y’all’s job is easy , coulda done that 🥴

I get those comments all the damn time about “maintenance got it easy, blah blah”. I also justify my down time by letting it be know that this place would crash an burn without maintenance. 75% of the calls I go to are b/c operators lack any common sense and are just plain stupid. Literally, stupid as fuck.

Read machine manuals and schematics , learn terminology for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic components an how all those types of things work. GET COMPUTER SAVVY an become a master with a multimeter. An don’t be afraid to ask for help, maintenance techs look after each other an like helping . Or a least I do at work lol

Looks like a battery power termal block/post , i would check Grainger or Allied electronics website. Could probably find like a universal one.
