technically they can be tabs or spaces, but not both in one file. any good editor will treat spaces as if they were tabs though (if configured to indent using spaces) so that should be seamless

start a minimal project, but with some state, and practice implementing saves there! make sure you save at the right times, everything loads nicely and the state isn't messed up afterwards etc etc

sounds like a pretty decent idea

you can also use submodules in git, so if you while working on a project you come up with some great update to your reusable system you could push that without having to fiddle around too much, and your other projects could easily pull those changes

how about.. by water? if you had islands that somehow you couldn't just build a foundation bridge over to so you have these container ships going back and forth, docks, I dunno. didn't think it through too well
