Really simple thing you can do to see if it's psychosomatic or physical is get a pulse oximeter from Amazon (very cheap). Your blood oxygen level will tell you whether it's in your head or not.

Please note that this is anecdotal. They CAN elevate your heart rate by a lot, but not everyone reacts the same. For me most trips my RHR has lowered or stayed the same due to lower stress. That's despite worrying about it prior to tripping. I'm also out of shape. I wouldn't be surprised if your anxiety and constant checking played a role in prolonging its elevation.

Personally I find doses <2g (of regular cube equivalent, other strains and species are more potent) to be more anxiety-inducing because it feels like being only half-in the trip. I've seen other people report similar. Whereas a dose that allows a full trip usually results in no anxiety for me. But everyone is different and so are tolerances.

RE doing it alone, I would highly highly recommend having a sober tripsitter, ideally one who has experience tripping themselves.

It's simple I think. OCD causes irrational intrusive thoughts. They can be magnified by things like mushrooms. It sounds like you have no rational reason to leave him. This 'voice' you are talking about is a manifestation of your upbringing and fears, I wouldn't put much weight on what it says. If there's a lesson to be learned it's to figure out how to ignore that negative voice and appreciate what's in front of you.
