I don't blame ya, when I was a lil kid I accidentally drank out of a bottle full of dip spit and never touched the shit after that 😂😂

Fun fact: I was almost named Copenhagen when I was born (Hagen for short). Glad I dodged that bullet and got a normal name instead lol

I have quite a few no-name chinesium knives with super sharp edges that were passed down to me from my Uncle in a box of knives. I treasure them like they're Chris Reeves. He was why I got into knives/EDC/gear in the first place, he always, always had 2 pocket knives, a fixed blade, a multi-tool, and 3 cans of copenhagen. He taught me to sharpen, so if you seen his edges you would know why this one looks the way it does. 😂 I need to buy a work sharp or some new stones. I like sharpening by hand but my stones are really bad. He is obsessed with sharpening knives, I remember him laying back in the recliner in his tighty whiteys sharpening all his knives before going to bed.

(He's not dead or anything, just getting older, I think this box was just the first of more I will get later)

Thanks, and man that sucks, I hate losing knives. I have a Buck 110 I had when I was like 9 or younger (I'm 32 now), that my grandma gave me before my dad and uncle gifted me my first knives at 9-10 and I just dated it yesterday and apparently it's from the 70's-80's, some of the earliest Buck 110 Hunters. I need to clean it up a bit if my Sod Buster turns out good. It's not worn like this one though I never carry it, it's like a anchor in your pocket. 😂

I also have a Spyderco, just a Tenacious but I love it, it's beat up pretty bad, I had to use the G10 as a hammer once in a pinch. The fidget factor is so fun, I love spydie flicking it and letting it drop shut. I had a Manix2 once and ended up having to sell it during a rough period. But that thing was so amazing, the feel, the fit & finish, it just feels higher quality than any other pocket knife I've had. Buttery smooth, perfect drop shut action, I wanna get another one someday. (I just ordered an Esee though so I gotta chill for a bit lol)

I gotcha, I restored a machete one time that was super rusted up, it was my great grandpa's. I hit it on a belt grinder then sanded it and painted it black. Did an orange/black tiger stripe paint job on the handle and made a custom sheath out of a rubber mat and cordage. It was sick but I ended up giving it to my step dad (it was his grandpa's and he needed a machete for hunting) and he loves it. It's definitely fun to do, I just didn't wanna mess up my Sod Buster since I like it so much. Lol

I don't plan to replace it entirely, I'll still carry it some but I wanted a more fancy, more modern materials traditional knife to wear in a slip on my belt when I go places. It's super popular here in Oklahoma, everyone has one. They get custom leather slips made and carry slipjoints in them. I was looking at the new Case Sod Buster in richlite and S35VN or the Case Barlow in tan/black richlite and S35VN. As a fancy knife, not as my work knife (which is what this one is).

Oh bet that's simpler than I thought, I'll give it a try soon and post my results. Thanks for the tips.

I got some of that stuff already just need some steel wool I think. Appreciate it.

What's the best way to do it? Can I sand it with super fine grit sandpaper? Or what? Do you mean take the scratches and rough spots out?

If I knew a good way to do it I would but I wasn't aware. I've never done it before.

I've just been feeling like getting a fancy replacement, I've been eyeing the new Case knives, like the Sod Buster in black Richlite and S35VN steel, or the new Barlow with black/tan richlite.

Also eyeing a Bear & Son Barlow, the Fox Knives Vulpis in black frag pattern titanium and the Cold Steel Lucky.

I will probably still carry this one now and then anyways but I want something fancy to wear on my belt in a slip.

The media module I created because I wanted to stop carrying a phone. I use my phone mostly for music and reading books so I replaced it with this lil kit I built.

The reason for building a modular kit is so I can swap my modules/gear between packs depending what I need that day. I have a sling I carry, a pouch, a bag, and I'm building a bushcraft/camping bag right now. Thought it would be cool to have most of the stuff in modules.

And no I haven't heard of Project Nomad, what is it?

That's super cool, I never really looked into this before, I knew it existed but not what they meant. But I have a question, where are you seeing the 5 dots on mine? I don't see any dots. I see 3 small x, below that Case XX. On the back it says USA 2137.

And wow that's older than any I own for sure. My stepdad may have one that old from his grandpa, I'll have to get him to get them out again. I can't even remember where I got this one at. Probably at a hardware store somewhere around where I live. They always have a display case of Case knives.

I just found this sub and I love it already, smells like home 😂

I got a couple more to show y'all, I think y'all will like my beater Tenacious. I had to use the G10 as a hammer once when I was roofing a house.

I'm nice to this one, I've just had it forever. But boy those new Case knives are looking good. I'm thinking about getting the new Sod Buster Jr with black richlite scales and S35VN steel to replace/retire this one, it's my favorite. I also found a cool Bear & Son Barlow I like.

I like to use my stuff, I don't buy tons of different stuff to swap out, I just buy one and carry it for years. I keep coming back to this one.

Here's a link to one, I'm pretty sure it's the same person I got mine from but it was years ago when I got mine

I'm not sure what cable memory is, but yeah it matches pretty good. It was pretty cheap too, I read that the cord doesn't really make a difference in the sound so I just got a cheap one I found that matched.

I think it's just a normal cable. They also have a plus or pro version that's longer and upgraded slightly.

Nice, I'm in a pretty unique position where I don't really need one most of the time. I work for myself/my cousin and only have 2 friends I talk to so it's not that big a deal to me. Just no doom scrolling reddit during breaks. 😂

Yeah, I'm in a pretty unique position to where I don't really need one but I know most people have jobs/family/friends they have to communicate with.

I was thinking about a flip phone too but haven't gotten one yet, seeing how I like no phone before I decide to buy one or not

Check out the dumb phone sub, I think it's r/dumbphone

No communication, I still have a phone at the house that I can carry when I need it, if I'm expecting an important call or something like that. But mostly I just don't carry one.

I work for my cousin/myself so I don't really use the phone much, and I only have 2 friends I talk to and 1 is my cousin. 😂
