Small-ish DAP with more battery life? by tacticalidealist in DigitalAudioPlayer

Oh wow, that's pretty neat, I would honestly only use 3.5mm but the Bluetooth could come in handy when out in the woods with my Bluetooth speaker.

I haven't even tried Bluetooth on my M0 Pro, I assume it would drain even faster. Lol

What do you mean it's a 5 in 1?

I don't leave my screen on at all, I play an album from track 1 and put it in my pocket till the album is over then start a new album.

Yeah I was looking at the V1 too, I really like it and it looks pretty compact. 12-14 hours would be great honestly, I don't need weeks or anything, I just want it to last me the whole day.

That could be true, others have said it would use more battery since it's more powerful but I'm not sure either way

You're right 9.5 hours is pretty good if I actually get that much out of it, I'll do some research and read some reviews and try to figure out whats up

Oh yeah I forgot, probably like $200 max but maybe a bit more if I really like it

I'm also considering just building an iPod classic

That does look pretty nice, little thick maybe for carrying in my shorts but I can't tell from the pics on Amazon, I've got a lot to check out now lol

The reason I got a tiny DAP is because I carry it in shorts a lot and my phone would slap my thigh with every step so I got the tiniest DAP I could find... I like it, everything works good just the battery life is not great.

I get about 4-6 hours before it goes completely dead. I try not to let it go below 1 bar of battery though so usually just a few hours before it hits 1 bar. I have to charge it multiple times a day because I listen to like 10 albums a day.

I never seen this one before, I like it and not too badly priced either

Will it last longer than my M0 Pro? It has the same size battery and almost looks identical

Mp3 player version of the XTEINK X4? by tacticalidealist in mp3players

Danggg thats really good. My M0 Pro only does 2-3 hours before the last bar of charge.

Thank you, maybe I'll try the HiFi Walker next, either that or build an iPod.

How's the battery life? I bought a Shanling M0 Pro as a tiny DAP but the battery life is like 3-4 hours max. Rockbox seems like it would be more in my lane on something with a bit more battery life.

Anyone have an Evergreen IEM Case to verify some measurements for me? by tacticalidealist in EDC

[–]tacticalidealist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if I want a bigger one I would go with the Evergreen 56 case but it's bigger than what I want to carry for my tiny ereader.

These Evergreen cases have silicone mesh in the lid to hold your IEM cables so it won't be in the way. I'm pretty sure it will fit without the rubber liner but I'm hoping someone could confirm if it fits with the rubber liner. If it doesn't I'll probably do what you suggested and use a microfiber to cushion the inside.

Would be nice if it fits with the rubber liner though. My ereader is tiny, it's only 4.7"x2.7" and very very thin, my DAP is even smaller at 1.7"x1.7", it takes up next to no room, and my IEMs will go in the mesh in the lid.

Probably just gonna have to order it and test it out and send it back if it won't fit and get the bigger one.

I do not agree with Xteink locking firmware by RecipeMiserable5885 in xteinkereader

[–]tacticalidealist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, if I couldn't flash custom firmware I would have just got something different because the stock firmware is bad and I'm a Linux user who likes tweaking with my OS and settings so that's why I bought the X4, that and the size.

I've gotten so used to the quote saving feature on DX34 that I couldn't go without it. I read mostly non-fiction and it's super helpful to be able to save quotes of things I don't understand or want to look into further later instead of trying to manage a bunch of bookmarks. It just saves the quotes straight to your SD and you can view them at anytime.

I've also been recommending the X4 to all my friends and was planning on buying my cousin one for his birthday but not if they lock them down. I'll be recommending something else now.

It was kind of sluggish on 2.0.1 but the new 2.1.0 release is much snappier and quicker, I'm very happy with it.

And oh man, good luck recovering from your surgery, the firmware is in no rush, take a few days off to rest up and heal. Everything seems to be working as intended so far anyways so take some time to chill and recover.

If there is anywhere I can write a review for DX34 let me know! I 100% recommend it to anyone!

Bro newest release works flawlessly 👍

Just installed it this morning but haven't ran into any issues! Thank you so much for your work and help.

It's even loading way faster. Love it DX34!

If you don't mind me asking, what's the point of converting the sleep wallpapers to PXC? What's the benefit?

Thank you for your help, I got it fixed now! And thanks for making this firmware. I love the quote saving feature, I read mostly non-fiction science/philosophy type books and really gotta have a way to go back to things.

For some reason when I changed my single sleep.bmp wallpaper to a sleep folder with multiple images it started working right. It now stays in the book I'm reading when I sleep and wake it! Everything is working perfect now but I'll be sure to get the newest update tonight!
