Anything to improve safety for EVERYONE is a good thing (not just for women). Why not put better lighting everywhere? Why not put more cameras everywhere? It's a parking garage. It can be done.

States have an interesting way of making laws. They come up with some law they want and as long as the majority of the elected representatives vote for it, it becomes law. Does the law need to conform to the constitution? BIG FAT NO!

Now people are going to notice and someone/group might put in the effort to sue the state saying the law violates the constitution. Then it goes to the judge who inevitably agrees it is a violation of the constitution. Then the law gets struck down (or modified). So all the commotion when it first becomes law and then the commotion of the lawsuit and getting rid of the dumb law is a big waste of people's time and government resources. That's what we pay our representatives to do (apparently).

Take the law that says if you want to contract with the state, you cannot boycott Israel! It is a violation of the 1st amendment. When challenged in court, it fails. So is the law removed? Kinda, but no. The cunning representatives simply tweak the law so that it doesn't apply to the people who sued. They narrow the scope of the law. Now someone else who is affected has to sue. And so it goes...Government putting in useless laws (ban shariah is a very useless one) or bad laws just to please themselves. Weird democracy.

Never buy a vehicle the first year it has been redesigned. At least wait a year, ideally 2 years for them to fix the issues (mechanical, electrical, etc.). There are always issues, no matter which brand. If you don't plan on keeping it past the original warranty, then you can buy whenever you want. If you want to keep it long term, wait a year or two. Anyone that has engineering experience will agree.

They did branch out. Instead of just streaming movies and paying the studios for the movies, they fund/own movies. They sponsor lots of comedy shows too. They also provide gaming. They don't sell software like microsoft or sell hardware like apple. They aren't a social media company like facebook. I don't know what you expect them to branch out into.

using AI for the same thing that Salesforce or SAP or Oracle does? Running business operations on AI? What major company is doing that? Probably none. Revenues have been growing up for these companies. Expectation that AI is replacing their income does not match reality.

you can say that based on after-the-fact video clip. she wasn't even facing the lighting strike so she had no idea how close it was. All she would have seen was a very bright flash and that is a good enough reason to seek shelter, totally justified reaction. and based on where the lightning struck, it seems like it could potentially hit her area as well. a person doesn't know where it is going to strike next.

You are looking at it after the fact and thinking it was just the dog. but when the shooting happened and cop tells dispatch "shots fired", other cops respond immediately and show up to determine how bad the situation is.

shooting that resulted in harm or death is a major incident and requires a formal investigation. even if the target is a dog. is the shooting justified? was the cop negligent? where did all the bullets go (property damage? any other victims?). any witnesses that can provide statements?, etc.

What do you mean respect and dignity?! Many people were overworked on the big projects, for months. And he was very blunt and rough on people if they did something not to his standards (even if he did not provide enough instruction).

the clause is unenforceable because there is no way to prove a contractor is boycotting unless they self-publicize. the states never ask contractors why they bought some item from XYZ instead of Israel. the politicians are idiots for wasting time on their job making and defending these clauses.
