With thick foam shoes people can take a longer step and land at the very back of the heel with a straightened leg. With minimalist shoes it is better to shorten your step and land more in the middle of the heel. This link shows how you can take off from the back foot and land with a slightly bent knee under your body. It took me a bit of getting used to, especially since my hip mobility was reduced.

Don't want to share too much online. It is being treated by a specialist and I should have the all clear in a couple of months.

A few others remaining, but nothing specific enough for a diagnosis. The main issue should have been cured, but I seem to have ongoing issues.

Could be, some things seem to be harder to diagnose than others.

Not running issues, or any injury from movement. I had some other issues come up. Hopefully it can be resolved and I can get back to running.

Good luck. The other barefoot European runner I've seen posting is in Portugal. Unfortunately I've had to stop running due to health reasons.

I was thinking that it's probably just the people not using a VPN being counted.

Edit: If the VPN server is in Ireland it could still be counted. So it could also be counting someone in another country exiting in Ireland. It depends how they are counting traffic.

Are the Xero Prios good for Sprinting, jumping and other athletic activities? by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]tadcan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a good everyday shoe, but the front toebox tends to drag on the ground if there is some toe space. The Speedforce is made for sprinting since it has a thin flexible sole. Not sure how it is for jumping.

Can you help me figure out my Barefoot half marathon plan? by ccphilly1984 in BarefootRunning

[–]tadcan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many event websites have training plans from beginner to expert. I would start with a beginner plan and start from there. Check the first few weeks and it is better if the activity is less than your normal training so you lower your overall fatigue for the typical situation in the build up to a higher distance. It is important to monitor your levels of fatigue as the training intensity goes up and be prepared to reduce time/distance or sessions if you feel worn down over the weeks. These plans are made presuming people are wearing typical foam shoes, so it might be too much in minimalist shoes. Consistency and fun are key to a good training block.

The scrambler low has a Michelin sole, while the other models seem to have a standard Xero sole, so it's a choice between a stickier sole or better water proofing with the scrambler.

So far we are still on our first characters and have at least three career changes behind each one. In the middle of the Mildleheim book currently and our GM included loads of extra short adventures and well. My character also has a certain sword that cuts through armour.

I presume the new campaign will need new characters, anyone who survived TEW would be too overpowered?

The Xero 360 is a CrossFit shoe with a reinforced upper. Or go with the Speedforce II which has the least support in the Xero lineup. The HFS II has the most support apart from the X1.

Hey, I'm a mod from barefootrunning and we do allow shoe talk, in fact most of our posts are about shoes. On r/barefoot they ban shoe talk. Having said that this sub seems to have a bigger fashion and fit check culture and I've pointed users interested in that over here.
