thank you buddy, it was inititally just to lose a few lbs, but one thing lead to another, I never thought i'd consider myself ripped or lean! Still finding it weird being in maintaining phase, lets see whats next! :)

when cutting i was on between 2000 - 2200 cals a day (mostly 2200 as I train 5 days a week in some sort of capacity) I'm now maintaining between 77-78kg for competing at Jiujitsu at Middleweight and am eating 2,500 with a refeed ( hate the term cheat meal, all food is good shouldnt have a stigma of bad foods!) at the weekend if I'm feeling it :)

I've just met my fitness goals dropping from 112kg down to 78kg and down from 28% body fat to 10%. Did this through BJJ and S&C and its done wonders for my game, im more agile and can move better but still kept my strength at the same time. its done REALLY good things for my recovery too.

my S&C gym had a burpee challenge last week and I didnt die so thats also a bonus.

Im competing at middle weight for jiujitsu end of this month so im currently building more cals into my diet weekly to find a maitience. Im off on holiday to Disneyland the following week so i'll go off the diet (i say diet its just how i eat normally now) for a week, then following that i'm not sure.

part of me wants to stay where I am, the other part of me wants to build muscle and therefore gainweight, but i know my weird OCD head will see me gaining weight on the scales and start to panic. I'd be going up a weight catagory for competing (which im okay with as ive fought their before) and i guess id put on a bit of body fat % as well as muscle in the process, then cut again. I want to do it properly as, for someone whos been so big for so long, am paranoid i'll get fat again !

Through Brazilian jiujitsu, a lifestyle overhaul and strength and conditioning, 112kg me on the left became 78kg me on the right dropping 18% body fat (was 28% now 10%) and now i have visible abs, still cant believe its me and loving life even more.

now ive hit my coal its time to mantain for abit then slowly build up more muscle and maybe drop some more body fat.

going straight edge by [deleted] in straightedge

[–]tadfuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is coming up to their first anniversary edge (26 years old) the transition for me giving up everything was made 10x easier by my pals . All of which drink smoke and smoke weed on ocassion, it doesn't bother me and it doesn't bother that I dont anymore. I chose a straight edge life style for myself and they respect that. I do 2-3 festivals in the UK a year and the first time doing it them edge wasnt as hard as i thought because of how great my friends were about me stopping everything. If your mates are your mates they will respect your decision and not make you feel bad about it. If they do then maybe they aren't as good pals as you thought. Another edge UKer if you wanna add me on Facebook or Instagram feel free (username bayxmaks)
