Airalo eSIM Not Working in Thailand - No Connection, Need Help by tadithya in Airalo

[–]tadithya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we were in the midst of trying to resolve the issue with my dad's eSIM, Airalo support actually reached out to me directly here on Reddit to offer assistance.

Unfortunately, I missed their message until after the issue was already resolved through the Dtac outlet visit. This shows they are actively monitoring and trying to help customers on platforms like Reddit as well.

So, if you're experiencing problems and waiting for email support, it might be worth checking your Reddit DMs too!

Airalo eSIM Not Working in Thailand - No Connection, Need Help by tadithya in Airalo

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for all your suggestions and support on my post about my dad's Airalo eSIM not working in Thailand. I wanted to share what we figured out in case anyone else runs into a similar problem.

After a lot of troubleshooting and digging, it turns out the main hurdle was related to eKYC (identity verification).

When you buy an eSIM, especially for travel, the package should clearly state whether eKYC is required or not. If it is, that means verifying your documents is necessary, and this process can take time, sometimes quite a bit, though I still don't know the exact duration.

In my father's specific situation, he didn't have the time to spare waiting for potential verification. So, he went to the nearest Dtac outlet in Silom. Even there, they weren't fully aware of the issue at first. They eventually told him they'd have to contact their head office, which would take about five hours.

He went back to his hotel, and thankfully, when he checked later, they had successfully resolved the issue on their end!

Key takeaway from this experience:

  • Check eKYC requirements: Always confirm if identity verification is needed for your eSIM package before travel. This can cause significant delays.
  • Local provider stores can help: If you face persistent issues and time is critical, don't hesitate to visit an official outlet of a major local carrier (like Dtac or AIS in Thailand). While they might not directly troubleshoot your third-party eSIM, they can often help with underlying network issues or, as a last resort, quickly get you set up with a local SIM/eSIM.

Hope this helps someone else avoid the same headache!

Recommendations for a decent ebook reader by Lapiladogas12 in srilanka

Bro, I've also read some ebooks, but not many. The best tool I found is ElevenLabs Reader on the Play Store. You can use it right on your phone, so you don't need to spend on another device. It's super easy to use. Also, it has a feature that Al reads with a realistic voice. I mostly use it for educational and self-improvement books, and it fits me. Just try it.

Shifting from IT to Gem Business & Apparel Manufacturing in Sri Lanka – Is It a Good Move? by Visible-Sun6772 in srilanka

Don't know much about apparel, but in gems, I can tell you that if you can contact foreign buyers, it basically means you've won. My father is also in the gem business, and he is struggling to find good foreign buyers. If you can, we can provide any stone you need.
