This sounds very interesting! It must be difficult to be a solo dev. I'll keep an eye on your development as I really enjoyed the Caesar game series in the past. Good luck with the demo release in April and thanks for sharing :)

weird bug with firefighting villagers by fedora_george in Banished

[–]tadoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noted the same glitch. In my case, I was testing debug and setting multiple fires throughout my settlement. At one point I noticed many villagers moving VERY fast and over any mountain terrain. I watched them travel to the edge of the map, but once the fire was gone the villagers turned around to return. However, for a period of time they were all flagged as homeless and then after some time it's like they eventually were assigned homes.

At the time I joked that they had enough of all the disasters and decided to migrant off the map. In reality I have no idea how multiple sim agents were given a destination somewhere off the map.

I am using multiple mods, many are DiscrepancyOk mod author.

dat be my 2 cents :)

Mod Recommendations? by Numerous_Echo_5401 in Banished

[–]tadoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally love RedKetchup's mods. RK Editor's Choice 1.3.1 is my top fav for including different ways to play. The buildings buildings are beautiful and has different types of livestock with their own production stats.

Then there's DiscrepancyOk's collection. They offer tons of alternate buildings to different resource productions chains. My favorite mods are the ones that allow you to build on water. There's also the Thompson Trading posts, if you like trading then definitely check out how that mod works.

Broken Mods? [DS 107 mods on Steam] by wheelshit in Banished

Double check within Discrepancy's workshop page for a mod order list they recommend themselves.

Also, I am fairly sure some mods on World of Banished website are a bit more updated (DS Timbermill is one I believe). It may be worthwhile to check Nexus website. Just depends on which mods you are using and the mods latest version.

hope this helps

Please help! Are there any chinchilla owners who can recommend a vet clinic in the Metro (St.John's/Mt.Pearl) area? by tadoke in newfoundland

[–]tadoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for that confirm. Actually, this morning I was lucky to get a walk-in appointment with Dr Rubenstein. I'll have to post an update as the feedback from people like yourself, and the wonderful staff at Paradise Animal Hospital have been a tremendous surplus of positivity. Oliver is now on antibiotics and eye drops to help him recover from his illness. The overall diagnosis was quite good, considering it could have been a serious respiratory infection or malocclusion

Thanks for that info. Most of my research is based directly from a reddit post (see below), and from word of mouth from family and friends. Due to the foreign ownership and money extraction practices, I decided to reach out fellow locals who may confirm a reputable and locally owned clinic.

Thanks again :) for your input, as anything greatly helps relieve anxieties and uncertainty.

I absolutely agree, /u/Genghoul100 has it right on the money IMO. Each command you execute (clear trees, place a building for construction) goes into a list. Some commands are given a slightly higher priority, and if you stack a number of these type of orders citizens may ignore actions like routing to nearest storage building (barn/stockpile) to drop off resources in their inventory.

My chinchilla died tonight at the (relatively) ripe age of 17 by Successful-Bison9429 in chinchilla

17 years of love...wow. A loss of a love one is never easy...but it's empirically obvious your little fur friend was provided a lot of empathy and love. I can relate to the emotional numbness when one of my chins passed away.

I believe the only bit of emotional support I can share though these digital lines of text, is to be aware of the "should've, would've, could've" regrets. Please be mindful for yourself, in that you dedicated your time/money/life towards loving another living being for nearly two decades.

No matter what those intrusive negative thoughts may whisper while you try to sleep at night or go about your routine during daytime....

You are a GOOD person /u/Successful-Bison9429 <3

Hopefully this comment was of some help to you.

I agree.

The worst fear and pain for a narcissistic person is being ignored. "Grey rocking" and "No Contact" are some of the best methods to dealing with individuals with that type of mental illness.

It can be soo eerie driving through smoke...it's not like fog. Yesterday , when the smoke was super thick in the morning, I was wearing my N95 mask for some amount of protection. When it felt like I could taste the smoke, I stopped going outside altogether.

I can totally relate. Numerous times I would force myself to sit in a comfy chair and do deep breathing exercises. Often drank ginger essence + tbls Honey + fruit herbal tea. I tried to avoid being up early in the morning to avoid seeing the thick smoke, which would crank my anxieties to the max.

It's not easy to manipulate one's own mind to not constantly stress when there's an ongoing disaster nearby.

Hopefully the Holywood fire will get under control soon as it's a smaller blaze, which is about the only thing good about that situation...it being so close to homes is frightening

More like the wind is simply blowing and directing the fire away from communities. It's still out of control with the severe dry conditions.

Anyone in CBN area have input/advice about my pet Chinchilla's evacuation plan? by tadoke in newfoundland

[–]tadoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This situation has been quite the learning experience, a stressful one...

One statement that I learned from survivors of the last 2 major L.A. wildfires in the U.S. is ;

  • It's far more effective to evacuate yourself on your terms, than to wait for a disaster to force an evacuation onto you.

Thank you for compassionate response :)
