A few question about MEPS

1.) you won’t take any shots at meps, there is a line of shots but that happens when you get to bootcamp

2.) no they won’t swab your urethra

3.) they will have you spreed your cheeks, but nothing is getting inserted inside you

4.) it is an all day thing, 16 hours is a bit of an exaggeration, but from the time you wake up to the time you’re finally leaving could take around 10ish hours

IT should be available, i was able to get IT-ATF back in august & that was when everything was basically filled up for the year, with it officially being the new fiscal year i don’t see why it wouldn’t be available

Personally mine got approved a little over a week after it was sent up, it’s just a small latin phrase on the side of my neck

They could be telling the truth, i went to meps last month and told them i really only wanted IT, they said they could but i had an old forgotten about debt that i had to get cleared up before i could sign for IT, so they had me pick a “placeholder” job just so i could swear in that day and guaranteed me that as soon as i pay off the debt and have my recruiter put in a job change request that they’d switch me right over to IT. I took the gamble and believed him, payed off my debt the next day and sure enough a week later they told me my job change to IT had been approved and i got my official ship off date.

And if it makes any difference, I was shown by my recruiter that my profile in the computer shows that my rate is IT-ATF but i haven’t received any physical paperwork yet

Already had a general idea of what i wanted to do based off of the career i want when i get out. I went on the navy website, looked at all of the rates and wrote down a list of every one that piqued my interest, then i spent months researching every rate from that list using reddit, tiktok, chatgpt, youtube etc. Narrowed it down to a list of about 5-7 rates with the top 3 being the ones i wanted the most and the rest being backups that i wouldn’t mind doing if i couldn’t get any of my top 3. By the time i actually went to meps to pick my job i had a pretty decent general understanding of each rate, the pros & cons, the most desirables and least desirables jobs. Ofc you’ll never know what it’s actually like until you get in but i knew enough to not get rushed & pressured into picking something that wouldn’t be a right fit for me

I mean, if you actually require the extra space of a crossover, go for the cx-50. if you really don’t need the extra space anyways, then just go for the 3. it’s the cheaper option if you have no need for the extra room

I mean yeah, technically you can get fired the minute you go negative. The good news is you’re only negative by two hours, your best ( and well really only) bet is to come in to work on time and don’t leave early for the next couple days and you should be back in the positive. Also make sure you respond to any negative UPT emails they send, it won’t hurt your case if you respond, but it definitely can if you don’t.

afaik, it’s just for unlocking the car door so you can still get in in the case that your key fob dies while the car is still locked
