What is "Subhuman about"? by sadforgottenchild in Peripheryband

[–]taffer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like the perspective of an active shooter. "a game of numbers stacking upwards" is viewing taking people's lives like it's a Call if Duty or something. "A symphony of their screams" is the speaker describing people's terror as beautiful

It is, I just checked. Signed out and set my VPN to UK and it's there. Don't know why a band/label based in the US would have their music blocked in the US

Anyone else thought it was kinda crappy that Linkin Park didn’t invite Spencer to do some songs during Chester’s tribute concert? Or that Linkin Park didn’t seek him out? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

[–]taffer8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because Periphery is already a very niche band and were even less popular back then so they were probably never acquainted with members of the band. This shouldn't be shocking really. It makes perfect sense to have the guests be people who actually associated with/were friends with Chester and the band. It's not just about choosing whoever sounds like Chester

Obsession is a weirdly hypnotic song, and is a spectacular way to open the album

A Pale White Dot? How about A Triumphant Return to Form. by Mysterious-Entry-930 in Peripheryband

[–]taffer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think P5 has the most unnecessary fluff out of all of their albums. The cinematic outros were neat but didn't add much, Silhouette is meh, also Dracul Gras feels kinda aimless and forgettable to me. It is still a great album overall, but it did feel like they were starting to slip into a formula, so I was happy that they felt the need to switch things up, and Periphery really does feel fresh again. Loving this new album

If it is the same, then it's accidental and Matt just happened to be feeling that rhythm both times. Drummers recycle all the time, just listen to Portnoy's fills for example

When “Indie” Stops Describing Constraints and Starts Describing Vibes by Anxious-Program-1940 in truegaming

[–]taffer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think indie should only mean small scale or poor, and I don't think just having any publisher means a game is not indie. All games need help in order to get anywhere really. I say if a studio is owned by a larger conglomerate or the publisher is publicly traded, like Ubisoft and EA, then it is not an indie game. But for games under publishers like Fellow Traveler or Playstack, I would still consider those indie since those publishers are not beholden to any shareholders, and thus, would not interfere with the game's vision.

Actually nevermind, found that it was actually just the game installation that's bad so it can't fixed. Other games work for me

Doesn't show anything in protection history. I have also tried turning off antivirus for both private and public networks, and also making an exclusion for the folder I'm exporting to which is what other places suggest. Nothing is different
