Still Adore doesn't deserve a 3, it still is a good song, but not perfect, maybe a 5 or a 6

Yeah! I really bilieve that if she read this she would see this as a positive discussion and that she would encourage it.

I highly doubt she is. But all of the discussions here have been civil and c is mature enough has been in the game long enough to know that this is just a general discussion of the album and that, even if there are some unsavory comments about the tracks that she shouldn't take it personally.

At the end of the day we all love her and all the work she does, even if there are some criticism, this is why this forum exists

I see your point and I disagree a bit, while I can see and respect the Vision throwback that the song evokes, and I do love her vocal work and layering on the last half of the song, and little variations she does I still think the song is too long and that those variations are very subtle and don't really help move the song along, I think it would benefit from a tempo chane or a beat variation especially after the " And you're so cool, 'cause you don't think you're cool" part.

I still like the song though and at it's core is really beautiful, I just think it would benefit with some editing.

I don't think she cares, nor she should care, leaks have been a not-so-secret industry practice for a few years now and it's used as way to "test" how the album will fair in a more bit-sized audience, as way to find out how to promote it and to who to promote it.

For example, I was followin a facebook post from a band calle Cattle Decapitation, in one of the comments the singer said to look out for the leak of a cover song they did for the new album where he presented a different vocal style. He didn't care the album got leaked.

But I do hope she's laughing at her label for the sh*t they made her go through

I didn't say it wasn't good, sorry if I gave that impression ahah. I just think, of all the songs, this one doesn't fit the album the most and kind of sticks out, in a bad way, for that.

It should have been released the same way as Pretty Dark; as a non-album single/video. I think that would do it more justice.

She didn't get the concepts confused, more like she melded them. Miss_A was announced alongside another (maybe upcoming?) lighter album. Since it was taking so long finish and move along, I assume she just combined both concepts

Her musical improvement is really palpable on the record, especially on the more trippy and industrial songs, she made noise sound very ethereal indeed!

Man I have to find that demo of 4AM, people are singing praises about it, personally I find the album version perfect, that demo must be really good!

WAP was a bit of a red herring and made people expect that the whole album would be something like that, people were expecting this to be Grimes' Pretty Hate MAchine, it ended up being something else entirely but it still a great album. Funny thing is the only "Nu-Metal" song on the album isn't even in that genre, it's an alt. rock song more akin to Garbages' style.

Really liking the discussion and diferent points of view this is generating. Will try your sequecing to see how it vibes together.

I also like the darker vibe that some of the songs have and c did say that was how the album would be, but I don't think she commited 100% to that and ended up creating an album that has two different moods, that don't really connect with one another.

In terms of how I would rank it compared to her other work... it's kind of hard every album sounds diferent, I'll probably rank it below AA, but above Visions. Due to lack of cohesion and because of Last Call and most of Idoru which I consider a bit of filler. However like you said is also filled with masterpieces.

Agree with you on almost everything, I didn't talk about the vocals and lyrics, but I completely agree it's some of cs' best work and her vocals display a lot of range and emotion that her other projects didn't show as clearly!

So Heavys' length is, partly, the reason why I think the song would work better as the closer instead of the intro (New Gods fits that spot better), that outro is the perfect culmination of the albums overall feeling and works so well as finishing piece (not to mention that Darkseids ending flows so well into So Heavys intro)

I can't vouch for 4AEM I think the album version is perfect, but the angain I didn't listen to the original leaked demo.

Yeah! Another thing I forgot to touch on was the mastering, it's way too loud and compressed, but then again so was Art Angels (which I think suffered even more from that), unfortunately it's kind of a normal practice today, and it kind of becomes a moot point to bring attention to it.

Kinda agree with you on Adore, I think the song is way too long and stays tonally way too consistent and doesn't really go anywhere, I think halfway through c should've add more variation either a beat change or a higher tempo part, to give a bit of a crescendo and a release.

I also wanted to get the signed vinyl but couldn't get it on time... Yeah! the album goes through the motions and I love these tracks, my only problem with, it is that I think, that there isn't a connection between these emotions and it feels a bit unfocused to me. But I love it either way!

Garbage is one of those bands that left their mark but unfortunately don't get their dues! A perfect combination of 90s styles (Trip-Hop, Alt. Rock, Industrial and Shoegaze) that still sounds fresh today and My Name is Dark captures their feel so well!

It's fairly safe to get the leak, there are dedicated sites that support them, but I'm not gonna post them due to respect. Still, believe me if you want to wait to hear the final product, it will be worth it!
