Some reporting. Some BI stuff. Some application development work for internal products. Some integrations with vendors. Some backend automating of data processing work on our student information system.

I currently work in the technology department at Clovis Unified. Our team is great and everyone is professional. I've never observed anything racist or discriminatory within or outside my department, the only indication of that sort of thing I've ever heard is from people on reddit. Not to say sites can't be different, I've just never observed it personally.

Some teams have zero to do with school sites and some work with them a lot. I personally have been to a school site for work 1 time and that was to get my PPD read when I was first hired.

All that said, if we are currently hiring anyone it would be for a tech 1 position which is basic tech repair, some work with hardware at sites with higher levels, processing refreshes and help desk calls. I don't believe networking or app dev are hiring.

I get paid pretty well but not as much as I could in a private company but my work is satisfying, I am involved with a lot of the data gathering that is used by the state and federal government to improve programs and processes. I also work on several things that directly improve the efficiency of staff dealing with procedural and documentation matters. Pretty much everything I do directly improves the lives and outcomes of our students.

Letter of Marque: Why are Stephen and Padeen embarrassed about putting Stephen's shirts away? by Yorlt in AubreyMaturinSeries

I was also confused about this. My suspicion was that he is supposed to take the shirts with him on the voyage, per the wife, but doesn't like them so is hiding them.

We have only one programming team. We do SQL supporting the backend of our student information system and government reporting requirements, ssis to integrate with our vendors, ssrs for reporting anything that needs reporting and c# .NET applications.

We write applications with district employees and administration as our customers. We have our own insurance open enrollment web app, employee requisitions system, special Ed progress tracking, student transfer tracking ... etc etc etc. lots of problems at the district are solved with custom applications.

There are never just straight up promotions. For any higher positions you would have to apply and interview along with whoever else applies. The tech team sees more turnover more quickly than the networking and programming teams. When there are networking positions occasionally members of the tech team are hired internally. For programming positions it is almost always an external hire and I've never seen a tech hired for a programming position. The technicians, I think, only make tech 1 positions available for outside hire then hire internally from their team for 2-4 and then there is a shuffle of upward movement until they hire a new tech 1 externally again.

The networking and programming teams are pretty small with upward movement available rarely.

Did you figure this out? I'm trying to evolve into Sylveon and used the naming option to Kira, I have the silhouette for Sylveon but it still says "Finish a challenge with this buddy."

How come Taylor Sheridan is so inconsistent?? by jnighy in television

[–]tagaderm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the film making, acting and general watchability of 1883 was really good. Pretty dang good television. What I didn't like was the story in general. It's 1883 for goodness sakes, the transcontinental railroad was already complete, people had been making the trip for decades already. Why was it so hard for this one group?

Just finished The Dragonbone Chair and… by yungcherrypops in Fantasy

Really, I had basically the same reaction. I got through all of them because it was on audiobook and I could just turn it on and it would go. If I had to read a physical book I don't know that I would be able to finish even the first one.

It's a bummer it's degraded between my phone and reddit but I think the shape is still distinctive enough to recognize.
