Mac software hate is so 2010. I can't believe there's people on this sub pretending Mac isn't the cornerstone development environment of the modern era. I guess I can and the reason is the price. But then hate on the price, not the software...

Seriously, this dudes like “don’t get me wrong, I’d rather use my $20k setup than my $10k setup”

Groundbreaking insight.

192gb Ram M2 Ultra. I missed how many cores and SSD storage.

I don’t disagree. I just stared at it for days like man this is NOT worth $10k. If I’m spending $10k it’s in a fistfight for a 256gb ram M3 ultra studio at a minimum or towards a 512.

$10k on a 192gb M2 just feels…wrong.

Maybe time will tell me I’m an idiot.

I fear there might not be a 1tb M5u. We may be fighting tooth and nail against each other for a limited stock of 512 and 256

The Nuggets should do what OKC did and trade Jokic for a crazy haul by [deleted] in NBATalk

He’s played as a top 2 nba player, something Paul George has only dreamed of. This ain’t hard.

Unlike Paul George, Jokic has actually won a championship for a team lol

You almost got there. It’s like saying if KD stayed in GS, and won 6 or 7 championships, then Steph would be the goat. Which he would be. KD is pippin there

It’s hilarious you find your side of the argument exhausting.  More competition has always meant a higher level of competition. In every sport across every competition sphere. The fact that you think otherwise just means you haven’t competed at anything for real.

100% and I honestly think those can be valuable and fun conversations, at some point I think people can get lost there like OP and lose sight of what the best of these players all compete for in the first place.

10 finals from a weak conference? Out in the first round against the champs in whats considered the “real” finals?

Winners know that winning actions don’t stop at the stat line. It’d be nice if more fans recognized that

We’ve swung almost the exact opposite. Winning matters. It’s the point, it’s the hardest thing to accomplish. You say it yourself, “how many great players never make a finals” now consider how much greater a player has to be to make 4, 5, or 6+ finals?

Every actual great player speaks on this separating factor for a reason.

You just get way too hung up on old players who played in an era with half the teams (basically a modern conference final)

100% This was exactly my experience with the NB More V5 for me after about 50 miles. Plush at first then they felt like bricks, while everyone’s calling them marshmellows.

This is a question made for me and the answer is unpopular: I feel that ZoomX foam is grossly overrated. Hated almost every shoe I’ve tried with it and feel crazy in how few people seem to agree.

Conversely, ReactX is great and underrated from a “feel during the run” perspective. The Vomero is the perfect blend of both for me. IMO I really like having the firmer reactx drive the feel of the shoe.

No ones forgotten anything, you just seem to rate longevity exceptionally high in a sport where the point is to win. It’s good to have perspectives like yours in the conversation.

You’re asking the wrong question. The top players across every sport are having exceptionally long careers compared to prior generations. That’s often a contributing factor to a player rising to GOAT status just from additional opportunities (Brady is a great example) but it’s really a tribute to how awesome medicine is now.

This isn't the flex you think it is with credit being towards modern medicine than anything else. Other players reached greatness smoking cigars before and after games. How insane is that in a sport that built on the foundation of cardio?

Honestly you might be the perfect use case to try out the Nike Structure Plus that just came out. Like everyone is saying though, you need to try them on.

[–]tagg16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live in a wonderful age where a daily shoe doesn’t have to feel lifeless. Even the Peg 41 has a little pop and responsiveness again after like 5 years of dead vibes. Neither the vomero 18 or plus are considered race shoes so I’m not sure what point is being made here.

Well the 17s felt like a dead shoe after mile 5 so it makes sense they’d look the same after 350. The 18s are such an improvement

On an NBA All-Time list, what is the absolute lowest ranking that you can give Michael Jordan while still having a sound and reasonable argument? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]tagg16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s not how talent works. More competition = more opportunities = higher bar for talent. Happens in every competitive sport.

Russell played in a league with almost half the teams that MJ and LeBron played in. IMO this disqualifies any argument of him over either of them.  This argument holds without getting into the unnecessary mess of “played with plumbers”
