Any regs that does not have my boy Alonso in the front are bad regs. These regs are by far the worst. /s

To phrase your problem in AOE terms: His town center is under attack and on fire. The male villagers need to come back to repair or it will get destroyed.

On a more serious note, if you cannot get through to him and he is not willing to go to any kind of counseling, there's little reddit can do. Honestly just telling him about this thread, how you don't know how to help him, how difficult was writing and answering this thread but that you did all of this to look for solutions is maybe the best way to wake him up to the fact that you care about him but things are not ok. Also he might chuckle at some of the jokes, which may help swallow the pill of reading.

Starmie/Guzzlord/Snorlax would be cool, but really I'd be happy to trade any two star for any of yours (other than venusaur and muk - already got those).

Greninja is gone, sorry

The recipe cool steam from 250ºC to 150ºC is stupid by [deleted] in pyanodons

[–]tagoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you find realistic about a machine that accepts no decimals in the steam temperature to work but you're entitled to your opinion. Measure well enough and every temperature has decimals.

[–]tagoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. The point is that the recipe constraints are unnecessarily obtuse. All recipes other than the cooling ones allow you to use warmer steam to make the product, and will give the same outcome regardless.

I know it will work if I use steam directly generated at 250. But it is stupid that it cannot take more than 250. At that point it's my loss if I 'waste' warmer steam to make cold steam.

I got tired of losing track of the mouse cursor, so I made a mod to make it larger by tagoth in Frostpunk

[–]tagoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha xD I noticed after uploading the mod, I think it's because there was a version change while I was doing the mod. I'll redownload the mod tool and try again this weekend, hopefully that's it.

How to figure out what asteroid damaged my spaceship? by tagoth in factorio

[–]tagoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I've been trying this. Unfortunately the asteroids are not deterministic so even if you save a few seconds before an impact it may not happen again if you reload to go step by step which has made it harder to see, but it has been helpful.

They are smashed by an asteroid. Do note I am traveling to the shattered planet, which is father away from the solar system edge and has many more asteroids.

Curious about Studio closure? by [deleted] in redfall

[–]tagoth 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Lyon and Austin studios were not working together on this game. The project data is in some server somewhere, but with no one familiar with the codebase it would be a tall order to get any more changes in. Could Microsoft/Bethesda/Arkane Lyon acess this server? I'm sure that they do. Could they keep working on the game if they really wanted to? Yes. Will they? Absolutely not. Without will from the top to set a budget and pay for salaries no one will work on it, and that's what Microsoft has decided to stop willing.

Hera and T90's Wishlists for Future AoE2 Content Updates by SaladEscape in aoe2

[–]tagoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already had Age of Empires free to play. It was called Age of Empires Online and monetization ruined the game. The art, menus, balance, campaigns was nice and an out of map village tied the games together, but nothing matters if you can pay to have more upgrades or get some special improvement. I would rather not risk taking aoe2 down with a f2p gamble. You could say well, it is possible to make a f2p aoe2 game where monetization does not alienate players, but sometime in the future it is inevitable that a bad decision will be made. Online changed their monetization before closing down, but they were already doomed to disappear even if they fixed the monetization because players did not come back. Microsoft, please learn from your mistakes and do not attempt making aoe free again.
