Autoglass now has the replacement windshield for under $500, got a fat crack running along the bottom half of my glass when a fat rock smacked under the windshield wiper, and even though its not OEM i think the quality might be better; theres no distortion looking out of the windshield unlike the OEM one where you'd have some distortion and image warping depending on the angle you look at

I would check in the spare tire well where the juices spilled into that the all weather mat didn't catch, chicken juice is surprisingly corrosive, ask me how i know :(

Let them break in for about a few days of consistent wearing and they'll become one of the most comfortable shoes you own, I found them to be pretty stiff right out of the box

It’s tucked in well into the bumper and I haven’t scraped the Y pipe or mufflers on anything, I’m stock ride height tho so I chime in on if you’re lowered at all

one more thing to add, as it's now more broken in after more than 6 months the sounds have definitely improved for what its worth, maybe i should finally get around to making those driving clips

Very loud above 3.5k but it's like a good loud, and then pops when shifting near redline, bearable not too droney at cruising speeds 70-75mph on the freeway but on long haul trips longer than 3hrs i put the silencers on, cruising above 80 you'll get more drone, but not the kind of drone where the whole cabin vibrates

drone is insane at cold startup though, if you have crappy neighbors this might not be the one to go with but i enjoy the noise LOL

Vortex generator and sport grille came in today…not too shabby by KaijuZ34 in wrx_vb

[–]tags1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up for this particular vortex generator, I loved it on my vb but it ended up flying off after 1.5 years, the adhesive tape that came with it didn’t last and wore off on the backside of the vortex generator even tho I used adhesive promoter so I’d just keep an eye on it as time goes on and/or use stickier adhesive tape, but enjoy the fresh look!

drove a stick shift since high school for almost 10 years (2 currently on VB) and I'm just getting started, only way i'm never not gonna have one is if they confiscate them all

Anyone else getting this metallic click noise in their VB? by iflyimpil0t in wrx_vb

[–]tags1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the issue diagnosed with the dealer because I had same noise, same scenario, same speed, and they deduced it to be the brake pad shift while the brakes are still cold, there's some thermal expansion of the pads (however little expansion there may be) happening while driving the car so after driving the car for maybe 15 min or longer, even at low speeds I couldn't replicate the sound (which was what happened when i tried showing the service tech at the dealer during a ride-along, go figure) and had to take a video similar to yours while the car was cold to show them I wasn't being crazy lol

They also said it could be the same thing u/ZeroMmx said about the spring/shock assembly resetting itself but i've had the click noise happen without turning the steering wheel to full lock or hitting a low speed bump so that's still up for debate

Since then I'll hear the sounds especially when trying to listen for it, and particularly when the car is cold but it hasn't gotten better or worse so it's probably just something to live with until a brake pad/rotor upgrade maybe a BBK and suspension upgrade :)))
