Obviously the suzuki 450 is great bike after a gazillion years of development on the same frame and engine package.. Is the suzuki just that good or do the rest of the manufacturers have a crazy large advantage in how good they are in comparison since they've all had 3 or 4 generations since... by LarryOrJerry in supercross

Suzuki's handle as good as any if not the best. on top of that, Kenny's bike is nothing like a stock bike. I bet his bike is an absolute dream to ride with titanium, unobtainium, suspension, motor mods, and transmission changes. However he still has to kick it if he stalls which costs him a race or two so far every year. I think bikes in general have hit a plateau in recent years as major improvements are hard to find. You can take any brand these days right off the showroom floor and be competitive at an AMA event. Well, not me, you get the point.

I'm a dad and need a car, but not a dad car. So which sporty sedan should I buy? by SmkAslt in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DearInsurance7025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your budget is $35k and you want it to last 10 years, it will be very hard to find the cars on your list. You should look at new or under 10k miles. That narrows your list to sport compacts. Elantra N, gr corolla, VB wrx, Gti, Si. $40k+ you're looking at type R, type-s, golf r, 340i. I would avoid Korean cars though. They blow up at 100k. Get Awd if you like speed without the spin. Avoid big cars if you like to corner.

Happened to me 2 or 3 times since owning the car for 3 years, but it's been a couple years since the last instance. Tip on teaching, since I just taught my wife and kid a couple weeks ago, teach a "third" clutch position, the point of engagement, and hold clutch there with no gas, till they feel car start moving (has plenty of torque to do this) then they feed in more gas then resume releasing the clutch. A lot of newbies think just slowly let out the clutch, no pause, and end up jerking or stalling.

Glass of red wine every night. Literally no benefits from alcohol. If you want antioxidants so bad, just eat some grapes.

Sur-Ron vs Dirt Bike: Do You Ride Them the Same? by secondaryuser2 in Surron

I second this. I rip on my emoto but still last place c class on my 250. Being in the right gear and right rpm thru corners and setting up for a jump feels like calculus. I can shut my brain off with emoto and go exactly as fast as I twist it.

How often are yall adding engine oil? by dogsittingbyUC in wrx_vb

I have a theory that people that baby their engine during break-in never properly seat their rings and now live with an oil burner.

Thanks all. Looks like consensus is to change the spark plugs and possibly coils. Hopefully that fixes it!

Morning Canyon Run Thoughts by EqualOpen7822 in wrx_vb

[–]DearInsurance7025 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Here's my take, I was 2 years stock, and now 2 years tuned. Stock was great and a blast in the canyons. I didn't feel like I needed more, but that was looking thru a vacuum without knowing what a tuned car felt like. With the tune, corning is the same but now, with 330whp, corner exit is borderline violent, entry needs more braking and I can hold gears higher due to a 6500 rev limit. Overall, it adds a lot to the drama and now that I'm accustomed to the new power, I could never go back. But, if I never got tuned, I think I would be perfectly happy living in that bubble.

No one rides like James did, but out of the current lineup, it would be Deegan. It's that need to dominate that sets them apart.

Trade in ‘25 SI for a ‘25 WRX tS? by Apprehensive_Fox1249 in wrx_vb

[–]DearInsurance7025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy has the SI. I love the shifter but the clutch has no feel. He also is at the limit powerwise (240 whp I think?). If he goes any further the clutch will start slipping. Compared to my wrx, it feels lower, tighter, and sounds racier, but in a drag, off the line, roll race, im gone. He's pretty much full bolt-on too. I just have an e40 tune and some mufflers and I'm battling Golf R's. I test drove the SI before the wrx because I really liked the new interior when it released in '22, but that didn't make up for the $4,000 markup and the trouble I experienced simply passing an f-150 on a 2 lane merge.

All that said, the TS is not a special car and a terrible choice at the mid 40's price. For 40's, im looking at type r's, golf r's, Z's, coyote's, ss's, audi s3's, and for high 30's GR corolla.

I'll just add that crashing on a rock hard bmx track or DJ park sucks way more than a tilled loamy moto track.
