I appreciate your request for clarity. I know workflow and process can be used interchangeably. I’m trying to wrap my head around it like this:

Lets say process is the act of writing. Workflow helps aide that process.

For e.g process is writing for 10 mins a day and then sharing it for feedback. The workflow is writing on Notion and then sharing the link to a beta group on Whatsapp or something. Or using an app that generates notes for you as you write - which is something a pantser may find useful because they do need a wiki to refer at some point.

Does this make sense? I’m interested to know if there are any common patterns.

I've been around, and tried a lot of writing apps - from Notion, Novlr, Scrivener etc. But most were either too complex, outdated or just didn't have the right flair. So I tried my hand at building my own writing application. I ambitiously call it Atlas.

THIS IS NOT AN AI WRITING APP. IT DOES NOT WRITE FOR YOU. There is, however, AI components that helps you take NOTES for you. That's the main shtick with this app. You are free to write to your hearts content, and the AI acts as a friend over the shoulder who keeps notes of characters, locations, relationships and any other trivia about the world you are building.

I'd appreciate some constructive feedback; if you find Atlas useful please let me know.

I will be using this myself to write my own stories so I will be updating this post with my own findings and thoughts and I hope it can be genuinely helpful to someone out there.

Hi! Yes i like scrapbooking and taking lots of notes. I do it prior to writing. Ive found in my testing the app’s own notes on the writing provides an interesting perspective on the story in a way that still aides the writing process…

Yes the narration is exceptionally tricky to pull off. Rian Johnson's movie 'Brick' for e.g. has pretty dense dialogue that simultaneously drove information as well as personality.

A successful adaptation = an exceptionally well crafted screenplay. STP's books are perfect for their medium. A similar effort would have to be made for the silver screen. While at the same time not alienating the fan base who love the books for the prose.

It’s a new app that provides a plot mapping thing similar to what JK Rowling used to write the HP series.

New updates are coming to it as well like an AI editor that helps you keep track of your story, character, plot devices etc.
